6 months ago I met with Shane Hadley at our property. I explained our house would be going on the market in 2 months and so we needed a good looking lawn asap. He said he would have it looking great, he appeared knowledgeable, courteous and instructed me on what I needed to do to prepare soil, which I did, and he told me to text or call him when I had completed it and he would return 3 days after. That was when the issues started. Left voice and text messages on Shane's cell and received no responses. 1 month went by and I had to prepare the soil again as rain had hardened the soil and weeds had come back. I tried to contact him again and again no responses. I finally got hold of his wife Rebecca (it's a family run business) who had him call me. He told me he would come to do the job but never showed. I later found out that Shane runs two companies - Dingo Groundworx and Good Turf Company, and had overcommitted himself. Frustrating for us who had put in a good deal of hard work and had unfortunately trusted him to follow through with what he said he would do. My complaint to his wife Good Turf Co again resulted in another worker sent to do the job. Also courteous, although 4-5 months after the job was done we had around 70 bare patches in our lawn where the hydroseed did not take, some of the patches were 20 cms in diameter!! And it was a relatively small property. We let the company know and once again no response to a couple more texts and voice messages, until much later when they told us if it continued then they would come and fix it. At this point we had lost all faith in these people and spent the next 2 months repairing the mess with bags of seed we bought from Bunnings. One thing anyone considering hydroseeding need to know is that this is a common occurrence with hyroseeding (patching) according to a professional lawnmowing company we employed to take a look at it, and this was not told to us by Shane Hadley despite him knowing we were desperate to have the lawn looking good for our open homes. It looked terrible and affected the price we got for the property. We would never do business with this company again. Poor communication and poor delivery of product. Overall poor service. You will notice that many of the testimonials on their website are delivered within weeks after the hydroseeding was done - this is not enough time to see if patches develop. It needs a good couple of months for the grass to grow up and for the patches to become visible and then it is unsightly. I imagine many of the people who gave positive testimonials regretted posting so soon.

We first used Cameron a year ago to hydroseed our lawn and have recently used him again to do the lawn at our holiday home. The environment at both properties are completely different with one being in the city and one by the beach. We are over the moon with how both lawns have turned out and highly recommend Cameron. He turns up when he says he will, explains all the after care required and left the property tidy and clean, even going the extra mile with hosing down the overspray on the driveway. Best lawn we have ever had.
