Novelty Sweets & Restaurant Auckland

The food quality is getting worse day by day.. we ordered few items including tandoori platter and Chinese platter.. tandoori platter tasted so much like refined oil but we still ate and Chinese platter tastes disgusting they have added sooo much sauce and noodles and rice didn’t taste fresh at all & we decided not to eat the Chinese platter. We went downstairs to talk the guy at reception and he called the chef.. we discussed our experience with him and chef started argue with us.. He first mentioned they are using the fortune oil and after 2 mins he said we’re using mustard oil. He also mentioned they’re not using any kind of sauce in their Chinese platter and we can tell it was a big lie.. we also asked why the food was too red he said we’re using sweet and sour sauce well he himself was changing his own statements!!! A total rip off and the food quality is really bad.. I wish I can give 0 or -ve star to this review.

authentic Indian food and taste !! Good place for vegetarians

I had a great experience here. The food was great and so was the service. We got our food to go and it was ready within 15 minutes. The girl working on the front desk, Parry, was also were sweet and welcoming!

This place is great. The food is amazing and the sweets are just perfect. I have tried sweets at other Indian restaurants and they are not that great. But the sweets at Novelty are just amazing, full of flavor and can really taste the difference compared to other place and staff members are very experienced and friendly.A++

This the place to go to if you are craving for authentic Indian Rasmalai! It’s totally worth it! The taste and flavor is really good! I have also had their samosas and bread pakora- even their savory is really nice! Would recommend this place if you are craving for authentic Indian savory or sweet dish!

Probably the best shop in Auckland , if you are looking for any type of Indian sweets.I have previously been here few times for breakfast, when we had ordered different North Indian breakfast items including various different parathas , and have found the portions to be decent big and satisfactory.I'm giving 5 stars, but I believe they should work on providing a better dine-in experience and ambience. Very disappointing experience in here!!People come here thinking they would be served good indian food !!But its absolutely tastelessPani puri ( stuffing is just pale boiled dry potato sprinkled with salt) puris not at all goodSevi puri is also a big time disasterAnd Rasgula is a hard ice ball has no feel of Rasgula

i came all the way from piha. to buy some sweets.. taste is too good .. one of my friend recommended this place…. highly recommended…. front staff Pari is too good her in skills really appreciated her time… also tried some samosas.. taste was amazing…

Sheer disappointment ! Food and service both. We ordered a chat platter - pani puri arrived without any pani. The puris were hard and didn’t seem fresh. Tiki was soggy. The Chinese platter was even worse. Poor food d quality and no flavour. The monchow soup was probably the worst ever. Oily and without any flavour. No wonder the place was empty. Waste of money !
