Alex and the team @ Newton Roofing are an outstanding, efficient, extremely respectful, hardworking group of people.The job they did re-roofing our home is perfection plus at a great price.We are extremely happy and satisfied with the end result.Their workmanship has been viewed and positively commented on by other contractors we've had on site and friends and family around the country.I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

After being told our home would be sited one week, it wasn’t weeks later. When we decided we could wait no longer it had been a month with poor communication, the owner left a horrendous, unprofessional voice message on my mom’s phone on the day of my grandmother’s unveiling. We have proof of all communication.He accused her of sending a rude email but she didn’t I read all their communication myself. My mother is always beyond polite and kind she just explained that we couldn’t wait any longer and found the lack of communication disappointing.The phone call was scary (which we have saved) and he tried to blame the death of one of his staff for the issues though a business owner myself I didn’t let the death of my grandmother cause me to be verbally abusive to clients. It’s scary for a man to be threatening to female clients.Also just because there is one death in the team doesn’t excuse a lack of communication or quality service. No death is an excuse for attacking clients character in a threatening voice.Seeing how he responded to another one star review shows how reactive he is and quick to blame clients.I never want to hear from this man again. He has an anger problems. Never dealt with anyone like this.Also he claimed after a few weeks he sited the roof when we were not home without permission by climbing over our fences as we lock our gates. When we said just ring us and we can be at the property any day and waited for him many days.Normal roofers will ring and let you know what day they’ll visit.Also from info I have found out through talking to others he’s not a good man to work for either. I feel sorry for his employees with his temper and lack of accountability.The reason why I waited to leave a review is that his behaviour was so shocking it took a long time to process.

Alex's and the Boy's were fantastic to deal with. Had a full replacement done plus gutters and skylight. All done with a high quality of professionalism and workmanship. Have recommended to a number of other people to use. Thanks team

Right from the first point of contact Alex was always great to deal with, he has such a friendly and willing-to-help manner. I felt I could trust that Alex knew exactly what he was talking about. Alex always kept me up to date with progress, especially when unforeseen circumstances occurred (through no fault of his own). After coming to the house to provide a quote for repairs we were told that instead of fixing the area leaking we would need an entire re-roof on the basis that it would be better value" in the long-run - bearing in mind we just needed an urgent fix and were using buckets in the kitchen to catch the water. I asked for an itemised quote breaking down the cost of a repair to the leaking area and some replacement flashing as well as a quote for a full reroof. The quote I received two weeks later was utterly absurd

I found out about Alex and the team from my mate Steve, Newton Roofing replaced his roof and did a great job. so when it came to myself needing repairs and replacing my roof I knew exactly where to go. I highly recommend Newton Roofing as they really looked after me and constantly kept me updated with the progress and made the stressful process smooth and easy. keep up the good work lads.

Alex and his team are wonderful to deal with. We had a full roof replacement plus a challenging gutter and leak repair. We had some real challenges with the weather and Alex kept in touch and ensured the roof was completed on time. The workmanship is absolutely top quality and the entire work team very professional. We used Alex and the team recently for a roof replacement on our main house and repair on our sleepout and garage (2 separate buildings).We selected their company due to the positive google reviews highlighting their excellent communication. That couldn't have been farther from the truth (which isn't surprising because upon a Facebook search, it appears a lot of the positive reviews appear to be from family and friends).From quote to completion, communication between us and Alex was poor (borderline rude). Minimal, if any notice of when the team would be turning up despite repeatedly asking for a basic email/text. We also discovered that communication between Alex and his team was poor as his team had not been shown the quote, therefore didn't even know what they were supposed to be repairing on our sleepout or garage (or even repairing the garage at all). It wasn't until we asked one of his team members when they'd be starting the garage that Alex realized he'd failed to include our garage repairs in his quote (which he pretended to honour but after an independent inspection, they only repaired the bits we could see from the ground).They were delayed in starting the job and failed to communicate why/ when we would expect them to start unless we chased them. At one point, they offered the excuse of waiting on the scaffolder but the scaffold was put up about two weeks before they actually started.Whilst waiting for a start date, I asked for a rough duration of how long the job would take and what would actually happen. The job was not completed as per the advice and some of the flashing had been forgotten/ not ordered so a major part of the roof was left unflashed. By not working to the original schedule I had been advised, this made it difficult for us to plan for our other renovations.Additionally, in this same email from their admin, we had been given assurances that whilst left without flashing, the roof would be water tight. It was not. As mentioned, we had other works on so whilst our plumber was here, he heard a leak in the hot water cylinder cupboard and discovered that because our hot water cylinder vent had been flashed incorrectly, it was leaking.The first day they were here, they left a locked trailer full of roofing materials parked in front of a hired skip bin due for collection. We were lucky the hiring company was understanding and didn't charge us for the extra days as it was several days before Newton roofing returned to move their trailer.They also left the building site in a mess state and my husband and I both collected two handfuls of roofing nails from the back of the house the first day they were here. I then had to request they collect further nails from the top of our pergola before they were blown down for our children to find.We found the health & safety lacking across the board, no PPE, no safety briefing before works started (despite roofing iron just being thrown without warning from our roof) and at the end of the day they sat outside our lounge drinking beer and then drove home (again no communication as to what they'd completed/when they'd be back).EDIT: Despite what business says, we raised these concerns throughout the job which were never dealt with in a professional or satisfactory manner. Following an inspection by a qualified builder, we found out the job quoted hasn't actually been finished so my husband sent Newton Roofing an email, this was left and sent an email left un-responded, hence the additional review. With the exception of a nasty txt from the business owner after this review (insulting my character), we have had no contact from Newton's roofing since the job was 'completed'.I do not know who left this other 'Annaliese' review but it wasn't me. All my husband and I want is the job that was quoted completed or to be issued a refund and mostly the emotional stress from dealing with this unprofessional business done with!

Alex was great to deal with and we really appreciated a great job done urgently on a public holiday. Highly recommended.
