Holy Trinity

A charming old wooden Anglican church dating in part from 1865. The previous church building (1855) also served as the local school. It was extended by local architect Edward Bartley, and he also designed the present enlarged church. The parish has been an important place in the community now for over 150 years. It is great that the doors are open to the public, so you can wander through the building and admire the soaring ceiling, wooden walls and exposed beam ceiling, and stained glass windows. There are plaques inside to various parishioners and servants of the church, adding to the sense of history. For anyone interested in Auckland history, this is one church not to miss.

Beautiful historical Anglican church

It was a really great time!I traveled through New Zealand for work and travel.The first weeks and month I lived in Devonport and visited the sunday services and it was allways a great time!Modern Music, youth and kids groups and some more activities!They were interessted in me and invited me for youth meets.When I left you, I was really sad and moved, because you live your belief and were soo lovely to me.Also the sermons were transparent and based on the holy bible!A great community!

Holy Trinity church is a truly beautiful location to hold a wedding in Devonport!The church feels very welcoming and also holds a sacredness to it, making it a beautiful space to hold a such a sacred experience as a wedding.The stain glass windows and deep wooden interior have a rustic and rich look and feel. The grounds outside are full of lovely little spots for photos, as well as the surrounding streets in easy walking distance from the church! It's a wicked location for taking suburban portraits with a diverse selection of buildings, walkways and trees. We had so much fun walking around the streets and finding the little gems between the houses, hedges and landscape!As a wedding photographer I thoroughly loved photographing this venue!
