Amazing! Russell is absolutely incredible! The only person I would ever want to take my sewing machine to in Christchurch. He is a whiz… can fix any problems on a sewing machine. I am so grateful for the work and the care he’s taken in restoring/ maintaining my sewing machine. And his wife, Ivy is there in the background helping things run smoothly. Russell is very knowledgeable about sewing machines and has reasonable pricing for repairs and servicing. I have taken 5 different models to him and he has fixed them all to a high standard.

Great to have people who know their job. was prompt service, and fee was reasonable. They guarantee their work. Don't be put off by the fact they work from home. This is a business that has been going for over 30years.

Excellent, fast and professional service from Russell at very reasonable rates. Exactly what I was looking for to service & repair my older sewing machine. My machine is sewing beautifully again! These guys operate from a home workshop which makes it really easy to drop off and pick up, even on a Saturday.

horrible customer service. either they have chronic communication issues with art of sewing, located at bush inn, or are lazy liars.after three long weeks of no news from bush inn and frequent check ins, from the end of october 2018 - november. we were finally told that our sewing machine was unable to be repaired and that usually if it could have been, it would’ve been repaired by now. we were then told that we needed to pay over $40 for the service. i asked, what service. they said, the time it took to ascertain how to repair the problem.the contract was for a repair, not for a service to discover the problem. this should have been disclosed from day one at bush inn.useless, because then they told us that we needed to pick up from hilmorton. even though, based on principle, we should have been able to pick up from bush inn. that is where it was dropped off, where they make weekly drop ins, and because we were dealing with an agent of theirs.this issue dragged on until march 2019. they said we had to pick up from hilmorton because bush inn had closed down. a lie, because we had been in-store earlier that week. unacceptable customer service and dishonest business. support other businesses elsewhere.

Really honest and helpful service. Retired couple that work out of an office at home. Wonderfully friendly and were happy to give advice.Had the integrity NOT to repair our machine as it was more economic to buy a new one, but were very helpful and accommodating during the process.If you would like an old school, knowledgeable and helpful repairer - this is totally 100% the way to go
