Great spot for a no fuss stop on a car trip. Was a bit uneven in 2022, but seems back on form now. Clean, good service, proper cup of tea. Been going here for years.

Rocked up 3 mins before opening the shop attendant stared at us with a blank face, and an expression making us feel very unwelcome , we were passing through from central Otago to Canterbury just wanting some breakfast. Decided to not eat there. If she had just been nice we would of even helped her set the shop signs up outside. For a small town grub stop didn't have that small town home feel. Very sad. And hungry

Wow worst place ever. Worst pie I've ever had and it cost $6.50 . Was More like a dollar pie . Absolute robbery. Don't waste your money . So many better places around

Ordered a steak and egg burger x 2 with eggs sunny side up and got for charged $2 for each egg due to an egg shortage. $40 for 2 steak and egg burgers, 2 pieces fish and ½ scoop chips. Fish was thin and dry and chips were hard like they had been reheated. Steak on burger was grisly and tough. Would not recommend this place and would just keep going until the next shop/town as even eggs on toast are scrambled from powdered eggs substitute.

So this is our go to Cafe when we travel, we always stop by going south and coming back, great food, wickedly good choc dip cone ice-cream,and really friendly staff, great place to have a refresh on a trip!!

Stopped in late afternoon staff friendly. Wanted something quick as we were on the road for that time of day they still had a good variety of food to grab and go.
