The one star is for the kind, professional, exceptional receptionist Rita. Otherwise it’d be a -5/5 stars for the lawyers. Don’t waste your time. First time ever being served, first time ever needing to step foot in a courthouse, first time ever needing legal representation so this was a sensitive, difficult, traumatic experience for me. It was an unpleasant first experience with Angela and her associate Nicole. Had our first call, I didn’t even understand what I had been served with let alone try unpack 3 years of my life to discuss my defences in a 50 minute phone call. I called a couple of times and she was always out on lunch. They did not represent me at the hearing due to legal aid still pending however, I offered to pay on a private fee basis until Legal Aid was approved but this was overseen. I did not get a response until after the hearing, I represented myself and I wouldn’t recommend. I had a short timeframe to work within and wasted precious time with this firm. Huge thanks to Rita Fairbrother the kind, professional, helpful, lovely receptionist 10/5 for your client/customer service.

I just wanted to express my gratitude to the team at Hamertons, especially Heather and Dawn. After a lengthy divorce, I found Heather and Dawn to go above and beyond to ensure that the job was done to a high standard. They reassured me of the process and what the next steps were, I always felt that I was their only client. Both Heather and Dawn worked around my hours to get the job done and I'm so relieved now that the situation is behind me. Thanks team.

16 years ago my parents had their wills made by Hamertons. My father recently passed away and my mother requested the original wills be couriered to our lawyers in Auckland. It took over a week for them to be sent, even though we were told they'd be sent the next day. Multiple phone calls and emails were made to Hamertons. Eventually we were told that the originals were sent by post (with the risk of them being lost) not couriered as requested. At an already stressful time of life, Hamertons added more stress. I would not recommend getting your will done through them.

Although the visit cost nothing ,I was impressed with the professionalism and desire to help, which in my instance, I think they helped as best they could .

I would not recommend this firm. The receptionist is very pleasant and apologetic but the lawyers are too busy. They do not return calls for urgency and are not helpful in emergencies. Their lunches and christmas breaks are far more important to them.

Because clients expectations are met with very satisfactory outcomes.Hamertons is a member of NZ Law Society for Panel Of Mediators- Family Specialist; Property Law Section, member 2017/18; and member ,Family Law Section. Hamertons is also civic minded by sponsoring annual fishing tournament for charity.
