Also learned a few things about layering and different materials. If you're not local, pick up the phone and call them. Locally made by local people and you get advice from the owners of the business, that really take an interest in you and are proud of what they manufacture. Really happy with my Zeal Guide Jacket. Jane provided great advice on the technical aspects of my jacket (Turbo Guide), and even though I wasn't sure it was for me, she gave me her email and mobile in case I wanted to proceed later on. Once I pressed 'go', she quickly ordered in my size and I was wearing it pretty much the next working day! Her passion for the brand matched with the overall quality of the products, made shopping with ESS a delight. Seriously- I can't recommend them highly enough.

Visited their pop-up store in Wellington and brought some clothes. The lady at the store was very kind and helpful, and I was impressed with her knowledge in their products (and tramping in general)! Very happy with my purchase although I wish there were more crew neck tops for women. Hope their merino quality remains superior unlike what happened to other brands when their business grew very big.
