Really nice place to take young kids, and to just get away! The Doc man was really friendly and kept the weather report ect up to date. It can get pretty windy, we've seen a few tents damaged on some of our stays.

We stayed 4 nights at Stoney bay Campsite, had a great time not to busy, Bout 10 or so familys, toilets wher the cleanest long drops Ive ever seen lol. Not alot of fish around, Tuis are amazing, hide your food ducks are friendly and intrude, and don't forget your bug spray for the evenings.

Awesome place for a long weekend away. Quite a distance out as the northern most road on the western side of the coromandel. Gravel roads for about a hour ish, seem to be in reasonable condition.Amazing fishing if you have a boat or kayak. Heaps of different spots to set up camp with around a 300 capacityThis is a pack in pack out site so no rubbish facilities. They use long drops, cold showers, no power and any water needs to be boiled. But what a amazing bay to just relax or take a walk over to fletchers bay

VERY large camp ground that is on the coast and absolutely stunning. There is a little creek on the property where you can also camp along if you don't want to be on the ocean side. There are tracks all around starting from the campground so you can easily do some day walks while you're there. There are toilet and shower facilities. The place is well looked after by the resident DOC rangers. They come around every evening to check the facilities are running well and people are happy. It's not a very busy campground as it's a bit of a mission to get to via very windy gravel roads far out in the Coromandel. Worth it!

4G reception available from the spark network tower on great barrier island. Bring bug spray. Although there are four camping areas to choose from, not all of them have toilet blocks. There is a good mix of sheltered and beachfront sites. A stunning peaceful place to stay.

Beautiful Bay, with great walks available and stunning views. There is quite a lot of tree cover off the beach if you get a good camp site, but don't forget plenty of drinking water and shoes suitable for the rocky beach

Nice campground with good facilities. Pit toilets and cold showers, but both are very clean, large, and facilities are spread over the camp ground.Nice view over the ocean from most spots.

Lovely place. We travel in our Toyota Coaster bus and parked by the stream away from it all. Lovely sound, curious and gentle eels were a special treat as we wallowed in some small swim holes. The beach is stony, bit better at Northern side. Gorgeous calm, deep, blue water to swim in. Great for kids with tree swings. Heaps of space for all with big Pohutukawa trees for shade. Cold showers have hooks for solar bags to hang, clean long drops and a small washing up area.

We didn't stay at this campsite but at Fletcher Bay. This was the halfway point on the Coastal walk from Fletcher Bay. The facilities look similar and there were a few toilets which looked new.The bay was nice and was mostly stone. There were people fishing from the shore as well as on boats. It did look a bit quieter than Flecher Bay. We just went up and down the same trail but there is also another entrance for biking in the area which goes around on the stock route". The paths do eventually converge towards Fletcher Bay."
