Phantom Sailing Bay Of Islands

What an amazing day sailing on a great boat 50ft long built in 1972 ? Ocean racer . Made even better by the very personable and experienced owners Rick and Robin . An hour stop at twin lagoons bay for a walk up to old pa site where captain cook apparently came up with bay of islands name . Then great swimming while tasty lunch was prepared . Well recommended . That's guy's for an excellent experience.

Definitely the best way to see the Bay of Islands. Rick and Robin offer a six-hour sailing cruise on a former racing yacht with lunch on board. We shared the trip with three other people; the small group made for a very personal experience. The boat was Rick and Robin's home for many years, and they shared fascinating tales of their lives in sailing. Lunch was home-made and delicious. A unique experience and a highlight of our holiday!

From the moment Rick and Robin greeted us to the departing hugs--this was a spectacular experience which I can't recommend highly enough! It felt like being warmly welcomed into a familiar and dear friend's home in paradise. They are both incredibly knowledgable about sailing, the Bay of Islands, and the world. The lunch was delectable and nutritious-filled with quality, local ingredients masterfully crafted together with love by Robin. Rick and Robin's thoughtful touches throughout the day was the icing on the cake of a beautiful, deep, meaningful, and luxuriously relaxing experience. Honestly, the Phantom Sailing Bay of Islands was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable tours I've ever been on, and I look forward to taking friends and family on this absolute gem of an experience for many years to come!

Our first day in Bay of Islands could not have been better. Robin and Rick were excellent hosts. The island we stopped at was gorgeous, with beautiful views and turquoise water. Robin shared amazing history of New Zealand and the Māori people. Would highly recommend sailing the Phantom!

We were looking at other options for a day of sailing when we checked in to our hotel they recommended sailing with Rick and Robin. What a great recommendation. A wonderful day of sailing with a very entertaining and incredibly knowledgeable couple. We sheltered in a small bay and enjoyed a wonderful lunch while staying on board. A few of our group chose to go ashore to explore. Can’t say enough about Rick and Robin. They provided a wonderful, very enjoyable day. Highly recommend!!
