Wow amazing well worth the hard hike to the top.Advice to wear boots, bring loo roll and hand sanitizer as the loo,s don't have either.A few false summits but don't get disheartened keep going as when you reach the top the views are absolutely amazing.

This is one of my big achievements in life when I completed almost 15km hiking to the Tongario Alpine Crossing. I went there on a raining day. It was challenging at first but rewarding at the end. This was the most epic. Come prepared with food, water and proper clothes. A very beautiful place to visit in the North Island of New Zealand.

At first I was trying to go there with my converse sneakers but it was a totally mistake lol I definitely enjoyed walking, climbing, and feeling the nature with all my body. It was stunning. Just stunning. I could smell and see some sulfur on the rocks! As soon as the pandemic is over, I’d really like to visit here again! If I die tomorrow, this is absolutely one of the precious places I wanna be taken to...

AMAZING HIKE! We adored this hike. Prepare for all sorts of weather and start out early. Bring food as it's a long hike across the lot, and plenty of water. Requires good fitness and familiarity with hikes. Defo wear hiking boots and proper gear with wet able clothes and sun cream.

This track is amazing. You need to wake up super early and be prepared for a whole day of walking and climbing.Go with short clothes but pack warm clothes because it starts hot but as you climb it get colder and colder, dont forget to check a weather the day before. The climb itself is pretty hard but almost everyone can make it.Its a good idea to pack food, there is a cabin on the way you can stop, rest and eat to reclaim your strength.

We took the shuttle from the camping at 07.00 and we started a half hour later with the sun and the stunning view. After an hour the clouds came and the view disappeared. Still a must do if you are in the area. It is not as heavy as I anticipated (couple 59 years and minimum preparation). We loved our poles and good walking shoes however. It tools us less than 7 hours with 2 short lunch breaks.

We completed the 19.5km Tongariro Alpine Crossing mid April and the weather was perfect for us. Despite what I’d been told about this hike being a little difficult in parts, I found it challenging. The Devil’s Staircase is pretty tough but the next part across the steep ridge by the Red Crater is way more gruelling for most people, both going up and down the other side.I’m an active walker, pretty fit and love hiking but there were times on the Crossing when I honestly thought I’d made a mistake attempting it. Fortunately I was with a buddy who helped me push through the pain and I was buoyed along also by the other hikers who were struggling as much as I was at times with the steep scree-strewn paths. The scenery, especially the Emerald Lakes, is breathtaking and well worth the effort. But I realised that there’s a very real risk factor doing this hike that must be taken seriously. If you have bad knees or hips you will suffer but if you’re confident, fit and flexible I’m sure you will love it and the sense of accomplishment on completion will be huge.A hiking buddy, preparedness and safety are all paramount. A lot of people have perished on this mountain, nothing can be taken for granted. Go well.

A beautiful hike with an even more beautiful scenery. From the grassland in the beginning till the top where you can see the mountains and the lakes it was a beautiful serene experience. The path is clear and as expected in perfect condition for new Zealand. Groups can be bigger at the beginning but they spread out a bit towards the end. It's very peaceful to be up there, breathing in some fresh air and enjoying the landscape. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Magical
