Middlemore Hospital

I have Undergone a surgery few days back in Middlemore hospital. The nurses are gentle, Kind and caring. They even looked after my belongings when I went to surgery, packed everything nicely and brought to me after surgery. Doctors are amazing and understanding too. They understood my pain and did surgery within two days. A big thank you to whole Middlemore team. Emergency department is extremely busy and the wait time is too long though but this is what it is.

Thank you to the staff of ward 8, I'd give you more stars if I would let me. Nurses and the orderlies were awesome very friendly. I was there from Wednesday to Friday and was looked after to the max. Thank you.

The nurses are alright, sometimes they are really nice and help but other time they can be a little rushed which is understandable... my main problem is the ambulance of dust in the room, especially in the respiratory ward. I don't think it's good for the patients to be breathing in dust, I cleaned of the dust and have photos to show just how dirty it is.

I've given birth here a few years ago and the staff was very accommodating and my doctor was pretty good. Only one nurse was rather unprofessional that she never came back after I called for one for some formula to feed my infant that I had to try calling again and someone else came to my rescueSkip to my recent and hopefully last time I'll ever come back here; It's pretty late and my son has been feeling unwell. Waited 5 hours until we finally got a doctor who then shortly left again right after checking his temperature and heart rate. At this point I wanted to just forget about it and go back home. It's pretty much pointless coming here unless you have the patience of JobTo the great nurses, doctors and staff of middlemore; thank you for being amazing individuals. Would really appreciate it if you guys could fix this big issue with the waiting.

If I can give a negative 50 rating, I would. Came here for coughing and sneezing blood. Waited for 5 hours in ED. An intoxicated person comes, was seen first. I asked how long will I still need to wait, was told 5 more hours. So 10 hours wait time for a person with fever and infection, seen my GP thrice before I finally decided to get help from the hospital and was told by the nurse to check with my GP again. If you are dying, do not come here because they will deliver you to your coffin.

Unbelievable health system. Went to emergency department at middlemore hospital got checked by nursing staff quickly and then waited for 3 hours for doctor to review got checked by nurses and was told it may take long… long….long for doctor to review. Decided to go back home without doctor review. Emergency department supposed to be for emergency where you expect to get reviewed by a doctor immediately. This Government is a big failure from all aspect whether it’s health, economy, inflation.

I had a great experience with my delivery in Middlemore hospital.Great staff.I would like to especially thank nurse Suman Pillay in maternity ward who took great care of me and my baby. She always came to help me whenever I rang the nurse call bell. She gave me my medication on time and always checked to see how I was feeling.She also guided me well as to how to look after myself and the baby at home during my discharge.

The doctors and nurses are generally great. They are very caring and considered and look after you really well. However, the people looking after the main reception area are the worst! So rude. You are the first point of contact when worried families come to you for assistance. You should be kinder to people. Each time my family and I were absolutely polite when asking for information but they chose to use a disrespectful tone. When you call them out for this behaviour they will most likely play the victim and say people abuse hospital staff. There may be some that don't treat you with respect but if I'm giving you respect, you should return the same. My experience with the older Polynesian lady and the older Indian lady at the reception was NOT pleasant.

Worst hospital ever. I have been waiting and waiting but the doctors are ridiculous. The nurse told me if there’s something wrong write a letter to government. The 2 people who came after me are seen by the doctor. Their kids didn’t ever seem sick the girl was running around and the second child was watching phone. And my kid was sleeping and waking up telling me he has sore tummy but he still wasn’t called. Nurse told me short staff it seem like they just don’t have enough staff ever.
