Wings & Water (Te Anau)

This tour of the Fiordland is phenomenal!! We had a larger group so we used both planes having Ivan pilot one and Kylie fly the other. They were both wonderful pilots with flying experience. They also both have knowledge and stories of the area and can entertain you the whole tour. The tour itself is wonderful and you even may get to land on one of the sounds! Would recommend to anyone who likes an adventure. These pilots can make anyone feel safe even in a seaplane thousands of feet above the mountains! Also very scenic!

We ended our honeymoon trip through NZ with this AMAZING experience and it was the best one we had in all of our staying. I trully recommend it, Kylie is and excellent pilot and so friendly. I will always be thankful to her and Ivan.

We quite possibly picked the best day to fly over Doubtful Sound. It was the most amazing scenery and the commentary from Ivan was great. Absolutely remarkable views from every angle.Would recommend this activity to anyone who is short of time or not to see fiordland!Thank you Ivan and Kylie for the great hospitality.

We loved our experience at Wings & Water. The destination we had originally booked had too poor of weather, so they recommended their “mystery flight” instead … which was great. We’re so glad they were able to pivot for us and provide a great experience. Our pilot was Kylie, and she was so knowledgeable about the area, and even pointed out a few lord of the rings/hobbit film locations.

Highly recommended if you have never been on a seaplane.We walked by and saw the seaplane on the water. It was such a beautiful day and we were curious about what trips they offer, so we just walked in and after a nice chat with lovely Kylie we could not resist. All 4 of us really enjoyed the flight in this stunning landscape, and with Kylie being a flight instructor I could even refresh a little my rusty seaplane flight skills.Thanks so much...

We had a fantastic time. We were trying to find a last minute helicopter or airplane ride around the sounds and couldn’t believe our luck when we found a seaplane! They guided us to an even better experience than we could’ve imagined. Definitely do the mystery flight if you get the option! Pilot was hilarious and we felt like we were best friends.

These guys are absolutely brilliant. We emailed weeks before we wanted a flight, and they were kind enough to keep in touch to keep us informed of weather updates, and had alternative dates/flights in mind for us as well.The weather on the day of the flight was spot on though, and Ivan took us on a fantastic flight over Doubtful Sound, with loads of information about the vistas, landmarks, geology and history as we flew.Every passenger (up to 5 max) gets a window seat, and you have no shortage of view at any time. The takeoff and landing is incredibly smooth, with only very few jolts during flight due to wind gusts.An absolutely wonderful experience, and we cannot recommend them highly enough. We will definitely return if we ever come back to New Zealand!

Absolutely nice and friendly pilots and beautiful plane tour. I even had the offer and chance to fly myself which I took immediately because I'm also a pilot in apprentice and flying a Hydroplane in Germany is nearly impossible, let alone steering one as young Pilot. Thank you very much for this experience, I'll definitely write those hours in my logbook, even though EASA/LBA won't accept those official. 11/10 would do it again and recommend it.
