Waiwera Bird Lookout
Peaceful little spot which would prove to be a nice little out of the way picnic spot, particularly if you're traveling North and want to avoid the crowds at Hatfield's or Waiwera. While we were there for 15 minutes we saw Piwakawaka, Pukeko, Tui and I think a Heron. Park on the verge or walk from the bus at Waiwera, but watch the footpath ends and it's on a country road.
