Very lucky to have this place. Free advice on law that I would not have been able to aford otherwise. Great friendly, caring staff that treat you with dignity and understanding. An appointment is given over the phone. There is a wait time and form to complete. I spoke to a training lawyer I believe, (I could be wrong) and they go away and speak to a qualified lawyer. I was then given answers to the questions asked, as well as contact names and numbers for further help. Thank you very much for your valuable advice, it is really appreciated.

Unprofessional staff with poor understanding of the laws. They don't have coherent strategy for assisting the vulnerable.Same as inaction police. Both of them has complicated procedures, but the outcome is so terrible.Their logic is upside down, so funny!

Went to community law because I’m a student and can’t afford a lawyer. Didn’t actually speak to a lawyer, just a case manager who didn’t really know what she was doing and couldn’t answer my questions when I asked her to elaborate on the single sentences she’d written down from the lawyers advice. Was told to go to a different specific service that costs money. Really shows you how the rich get away with so much because even the services designed to help the less wealthy don’t seem to help.

Community Law Centre is usually a great place to go to get good legal advice. Unfortunately in my case it wasn’t. I Used them before for an ACC matter and the training lawyer was fantastic. unfortunately I find myself in a situation where I needed their help again. This is where it gets tricky, The community Law Centre no longer helps with ACC related matters. And the person who I was talking to found it difficult to answer why.It appears that ACC not only have all the specialists in their back pocket but now It possibly looks like the community Law Centre may be that way too.Very disappointing that a place that was set up to help people in need are loosing site of the actual reason that they started out in the first place ! This is only my personal Prospective and my own experience with them, hopefully your experience will be different.

I went there because I'm disabled and had no way to pay a lawyer. I got some assistant that basically regurgitated exactly what I told her after waiting an hour and a half, then said I can call one of the three lawyers that cost approximately $3000 to submit one paper to the court in order to get a temp work license. Honestly a huge waste of time and very disappointing.
