Pukerua Glass Studio | Established in 1987 by German glass artist Olaf Wehr-Candler - Pukerua Glass Studio designs & manufactures quality architectural art glass, sells leadlight supplies & undertakes restoration, conservation & repairs of historic stained glass. Located in Pukerua Bay, 30 km north of Wellington, close to the Kapiti Coast.

We highly recommend Olaf at Pukerua Glass as we commissioned a medium size but intricate design for our kitchen window and we are very pleased with it. Olaf being approachable and entirely a craftsman aside, the recent build of a stairwell window has exceeded what I hoped for. A good deal of reading took me to wanting hand-blown glass, and that to the craft of the Pukerua Glass Studio. Olaf was painstakingly supportive in refining a design, exploring colour and detail. The build is exemplary; the installation was painless which amplified the excitement of the placement of a very accomplished contemporary glass panel. I am spending too much time staring at the finished work.

Pukerua Glass Studio
I started learning stained glass a couple of years ago and from my very first visit to Olaf’s studio I felt I had struck gold. Not only does he have an extensive range of quality glass, tools of the craft and everything else you need, but he’s one of those rare master craftsmen who will willingly share knowledge and patiently explain/ show you things and offer sound advice if asked. I have learned so much from him. He’s always overwhelmed with work commissions of his own ( unsurprisingly)but he never makes you feel rushed and is always is willing to give you as much time and help as you need when you visit. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Really impressed with the professionalism from Olaf from the first contact regarding fixing damage to our leadlight front door in our 1926 home. The glass insert is now super strengthened and in much better shape. Really happy with all the fixes Olaf made, he's a true craftsman in his trade.

We are thrilled with the stained glass panels that Olaf designed to go beside our front door.Olaf listened to our ideas, he came and visited our home to see where the panels would be situated taking into consideration the amount of light we get by the front door and also noted the design of our landscaping. He came up with a beautiful design for us.We would have no hesitation in recommending Olaf to anyone that is looking for a true craftsman to design and install stained glass products into their home or business.

Olaf designed and installed a geometric stained glass window for us. It looks absolutely fantastic - the colour graduations are amazing with the light behind them and it's added a lot of privacy without limiting natural light. Olaf was great to work with. Highly recommend Pukerua Glass.
