Hope River Pies
I have driven past the Hope River Pies shop in Lyttelton hundreds of times over the years and never once stopped in. Today I decided to try one of their pies, and had the lamb shoulder and kūmara pie.I will definitely be coming back, one of the best pies I’ve ever had. Great customer service as well with a personal touch.

Great pies. Fantastic pastry - slight crunch, flaky and buttery. Top quality fillings beautifully cooked and generous. My favourites were the Chicken and Venison pies. Great value.They obviously enjoy making their pies.

Hope River Pies
Visted earlier today. Got a Middle Earth vegetarian pie, and a vegetarian roll (roast vege, lentils and tasty cheese) and both were absolutely phenomenal. Also grabbed a Steak and Cheese, a Country Chicken and a Chilli pie cold, to heat up at home, which I've now had. They were all incredible... I thought I like Sheffield Pies best, but I've been corrected, Hope River pies are the best pies in the region, easy. Absolutely delicious.

Hope River pies are delicious, would highly recommend. The vegan curry pie is the best vegetarian or vegan pie I have ever had. Plenty of meaty options available also and friendly team.

Hope River Pies
I was finding a parking place in the town. It was nearly lunchtime. After parking when I look outside I saw a small display board near the pathway. We bought two pies from there, when we had eaten their pies - they were amazing. A nice lady treated me very well and explained about the special tasty pies.

Hope River Pies
Great pies with unique flavours. At around $7ea I was expecting a lot and they delivered. The Venison, Mushrooms, and Bacon was delicious without any dodgy bits of meat and the best pastry I've had in ages. The lamb and kumara was so tender, and the kids loved the mince one. Also great was the service that was enthusiastic, polite and so very friendly. She even suggested to cut the kids one in half instead of expecting us to buy two. It's that kind of thing that loses them $7 now, but will get a lot more in the future.

Not only were the pies phenomenal but the true highlight was the incredibly friendly and charismatic woman who took our order. Such an angel! Would also recommend the banana bread to anyone passing by, so delicious!

First time there today.Purchased the beef, red wine and smokey bacon pie.Right up there with the very best pies I have tasted !
