We've stayed in many places all around the world, but take some time to support small places like the Ahaura Hotel.We flew into Christchurch at 11:40pm last night, slept at Jucy Snooze, then early flight home to Nelson this morning. Unpacked, repacked and headed to Ahaura to drop our daughter off at her friend's. Too tired to drive home, decided to book into the Ahaura Hotel.Even though a small county pub, we felt very welcome by Sam and Emma, friendly locals, great food choices, our favourite jug of Speights, renovated clean rooms and atmosphere. Only $108 for a couple, shared clean bathrooms, flat screen TV and the most comfortable bed!Instead of driving from city to city, stop and experience rural hospitality, you'll feel so very relaxed, we sure did after a hectic holiday in Surfers Paradise.

It's a true country pub where you can talk to the people. Food is top notch and really tasty and the owners are fantastic down to earth

What a great place to visit and stay! Great country pub, fantastic meals (2 of us had steak and the other a pizza) and tidy, clean and comfortable accommodation. But best of all is the hospitality, we were well looked after and loved our short stay. We are going back!!!

A great spot with even greater people! The owners and Sam are so kind and welcoming. The accommodation was comfy, the fish and chips were tasty, and the pool table was great. I definitely recommend stopping by.

A hidden gem. We have always to stop in and today we did.Wow, what a great place. The owners staff are awesome. Very friendly and happy to have a chat with their customers.Garden Bar is excellent.We didn't have a meal but they have a great little eating area, child friendly.They also have accommodation.Highly recommend you take the time to stop in.
