Truly a one-of-a-kind vet clinic worth driving across the city for and worth all staff feeling very proud of!

Me and my Border Collie love our new vet. My girl has an idiopathic epilepsy and after trying a few other clinics we finally feel like Nutmeg is being treated and has a chance for a longer, happier life. Very good vibes all around :)

Took my new puppy for his first vet visit and the staff were absolutely wonderful. They took time to show me around, made sure to make the experience positive for my doggo with lots of treats, socialising, and scratches. They were very thorough with the first visit and even caught an issue that we can now work through preventively. A really great team that I would definitely recommend!

Warm greeting from reception staff. Consultation was good. Took one star off because the COST TRANSPARENCY. I took my cat for Vaccine, cost for the visit is almost $250. I didn’t question the bill cause it is my first Vet visit and I have no idea how much will be cost. When I read the bill, I got about $120 for Vaccine, $97 for flea treatment and $25 for service fee… . My pet insurance only paid $75 for Vaccine, they told me it is standard cost in NZ. For flea treatment, She suggested me to change from Advovate to Bravecto, without told me the cost or I even didn’t agree for her suggestion, she already put in my bill. I also ask her, how to get my cat not afraid to foreigners, I suddenly got prescription suggestion for $25, again, without confirm the cost. I thought I just have chat with her but she put in my bill. Flea treatment is too expensive than I could get from other pet store. She is good for her job I believe, but please let your customer know the cost first. We don’t have to buy flea treatment from you, right? Everyone know it is expensive. I hope manager can contact me. I would like to get refund for the the goods and service which is not disclosed price to me.I don’t really like to write review, but I thought it will be good to know by other new clients for this VET.

Very friendly and very thorough. Love the fact thst there are separate cat and dog areas. Thoughtful.

Brought my cat here for the last 3 years and they’ve been nothing but wonderful. Everyone from the receptionist, to nurses and vets are always so warm, caring and really take the time with you. You don’t feel like they’re just doing a quick job to get you out the door. The environment is calming and immaculately kept. Sadly because I’ve moved to the shore I don’t want to put my cat through longer car rides than necessary so have had to find vets closer to home, but we miss them already. Thank you Strand vets!

Highly recommend The Strand Veterinarian! I had an emergency with my dog eating chocolate, I rang 3-4 vets nearby and none would take him in because he was not registered with any of the vet.However, The Strand Veterinarian took care of him immediately and got him treated. The staff members are so lovely and caring!

Dr. Alice is very professional and responsible! When she knew that my dog had diarrhea and was vomiting, she immediately arranged a consultation and asked natasha about her previous medical records and vaccine records. Very patient and professional throughout the interview! My dog was treated professionally the first time and booked for a follow-up visit. Thanks again to Dr. Alice!

Only our first visit, a very friendly environment, & a great team of people, feel very comfortable with our timid little girl here :)
