Awesome library with great things happening all around.I was impressed with the building before I even entered and the insides didn't disappoint either.The first floor is mainly for families with their legos, boardgames, tv, video games (PlayStation, Xbox etc) and books in multiple languages. It is NOT for quiet times as they have lots of kids activities happening.If you want some quiet time at this library I would suggest level 2 and 3 while level 4 is the Auahatanga/Creativity area and more about technology. You can edit music and video using the Audio/Video Studio, use the Computer Labs with their many softwares. They also have 3D and vinyl printers.We spend 3-4 hours/week here.

great place to hang out, comfy chairs, WiFi, USB access points and plenty of user plugs to use and plug in! real chilled out place loved it, lots of diversity, people doing crafts and puzzles.. felt like a more larger modern version of my apartment thanks CHCH for being a great host .. not sure if its worth rebuilding tho but if they are intent on rebuilding using old foundation policies so put everything on STILTS civil construction guys know what I mean -Japan employs this technology so we need to also.. there's bound to be another earthquake waiting somewhere

A fantastic library, impressive architecture with stunning views across the city from the viewing platforms. They've got ping pong, a PlayStation 5, numerous computers and a fine selection of books to enjoy. There's a comprehensive personal development section upstairs, which the library staff helped me to find. There is also free WiFi and lots of quiet areas to sit and read. I could spend days here! This whare is amazing! Everything here you need from books and technology to playing playstation on big screens! Four floors. Great teen YA space. Can spend ages here! Sunny chairs alongside the windows with fab views of Christchurch

Amazing place to chill quietly, I’m not even a big library person but Tūranga is awesome! Really recommend tourists/backpackers drop in if you are looking for a quiet place to unwind after hectic travel days! Great selection of books too. I could spend a days here just wandering around and reading.

Love this library, best in the country. Four levels of awesomeness. One level with great Lego activities for the kids, lots of quiet side rooms for meeting and study. Interactive digital display on ground floor, good toilets and water fountains to come back and fwd to with the kids!

We had a book launch in one of the libraries fantastic rooms with perfect heating , great kitchen ( hidden behind ) closed doors .comfortable and ample seating .the technology side everything worked when it should. As for the people we worked with all went beyond their duties to make sure we had everything we needed including parking , invites omg it made our experience easy ! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts
