Waka Huia Childcare

My daughter has been attending Waka Huia childcare since last year Sept/Oct we absolutely love Waka Huia, a home away from home with the most loving nurturing teachers/Hayley (HOD) which is a huge impact on the children, amazing would not have it any other way ❤️ much appreciated. 100percent highly recommended.

A home away from home for my child.Waka Huia has been amazing for my daughter, she looks forward to going every day and I think it’s because of the passionate teachers who make the effort to get to know your child and the parents, the environment, the play and activities that you walk into when you first arrive is great and well set up so many opportunities for indoor and outside play.(the outside area is one of the best I’ve seen) Waka Huia has a warm and comforting environment. My only regret is not starting my daughter at this school sooner. we love it! Highly highly recommend!

We absolutely love sending our two kids to Waka Huia. Hayley and her amazing team are the kindest, most dedicated and nurturing people we ever could have asked for to look after our wee ones, and I know that every day they are learning in a safe, loving and fun environment. The centre itself is fantastic, my two particularly love the large sandpit and the fruit and vegetable patch. Waka Huia is more like a family than a daycare!

A real ‘treasure box’ to care for your little ones. My daughter really looked forward to going to day care, especially to be with Hayley the head teacher. Beautiful energy and vibe, couldn’t recommend WH enough, definitely ticks all the key day care boxes a parent requires.

When we first visited this beautiful, small centre we knew straight away it was “the one”. The teachers are all so warm, caring and respectful to the tamariki. My son became comfortable with the teachers and settled in very quickly. It is in a beautiful old villa. The garden is very expansive with established fruit trees and vegetables growing, a large sandpit and playground. It has a very homely and organic feel, unlike some other centres which can be “classroom-like” and sterile. They have lots of natural and high quality resources. And the teachers set up very thoughtful and original activities, inspired by the children’s interests, and using natural resources and real equipment. The teachers are so wonderful at engaging with tamariki, listening to them and showing interest in their ideas and pursuits. My son feels very valued and at home there thanks to the nurturing and engaged teachers.
