It's a gem in town. Sad experience because we overstayed one night and we got a fine, but the rules are clear.

I have a daily beachwalk on Waitara Beach. Thoroughly love and enjoy going to our Beach it's great being out in Nature enjoying the saltsea air.

Beautiful beach to go for a walk on. It has easy access for cars to park up, has an epic playground and sone public toilets to use; overall it's such a lovely place to visit!

It would of been better to have shaded trees to park under. There's plenty of room. This beach has changed so much and is a credit to the town.

Nice place to chill out & take in the amazing sea views. Would give it five stars if the grassy area near the carparks was made into a decent children's playground or something else, plus the skate park needs revitalisation. The big tank close to the boat ramp is also a real eyesore which, if it can't be removed, should be brightened up.

Lovley little spot, friendly locals. Nice place to gather some paua. If the tides in a quick dip does the trick first thing in the morning. need some decent footware to walk on the rocks

A lovely place with a mixture of black sand and rocks on the beach. The rocks always make for good fun throwing them into the water. The black sand (presumably volcanic) is as black as you could ever see, such a contrast. Clearly good for fishing as so many people parked up enjoying that as an afternoon entertainment. Also some surfers out so good for catching some waves if you fancy it!

It is a safe beach but spoilt by being so stony.Lovely walk on a suitable tide.Gave it 4 stars because of the stones which make it hard going but would be worth a 5 if it was sandy like ie used to be
