A quaint little inn will have you comfortable before you know it! Be sure to stop by the Tavern for a pint of Guinness and a Baileys ice cream Sunday, and don't forget to buy Murray a beer! 5 stars A++

Average at best. The place looks like it was once a lovely destination but is now run down. The service is muddly, they say they can provide services they can't such as catering to dietary requirements. The rooms and restaurant smell of old greasy pub. The continental breakkie with croissants is frozen sliced toast.

We went to the restaurant and bar for a meal and a drink. The staff were super friendly and the food was really good and filling! Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a traditional irish pub drink and feed! There is also a nice outdoor area to sit next to a pond if it’s sunny :)

A really lovely place to stay, great prices-$20 for an unpowered site. Very kind staff make you feel welcome and comfortable.

We stayed one night two months ago and to say this accomodation is dated and dirty is an understatement. On entering our room the panel heater was smashed and hanging off the wall. The light above on ceiling was a bulb in a hole with no fitting. The toilet seat and the toilet roll holder were hanging on by a thread. The power point in the room was hanging loose out of a large hole in the wall. No smoke or fire alarm in the room and the room had not been vacuumed for some time. All this for $185 a night - what a joke. Breakfast the next morning really topped our stay off when the yoghurts offered had expired by 3 weeks. When the owner was approached about these issues he said next time he would give us a good room. We would have expected for $185 it should have been a good room. We can't recommend this accomodation at all.

It's a real shame the owner doesn't invest more into this place. The grounds are beautiful and it has everything there to be a great experience..... The problem is obvious.... The owner thinks this is his own private pub and the people that stay are simply a means to keep his private pub going. The rooms are not maintained, the decking is dangerous, the WiFi is non existant, there is a lack of staffing and the looped music in the restaurant/pub is so annoying and repetitive that I wanted to avoid going in there altogether...... It's non stop and it's the same songs/unknown singer all day and night. Food was good, even though a little overpriced.

Excellent park over property, complete with powered sites, showers, and a country pub with an Irish history.

Disappointing as we booked for 2 nights on the understanding that the bar & restaurant on site would be operating but we were informed after we had paid that the bar & restaurant was closed meaning we would have to travel into Kaikoura (about 5kms) for these services. We spoke to many others staying who had been similarly treated, some having travelled from Auckland & far flung parts.Apparently licencing issues were the root of the problem but in these days of electronic communication, management could have contacted all of those affected & informed us of the situation & either discuss a discount or arrange other accommodation.
