Specsavers Optometrists & Audiology - Lower Hutt

Specsavers have now moved to the ground floor in Queensgate Shopping Centre and the place looks so clean and amazing.Layout:Specsavers has changed the layout to be way more private for those who are paying for the glasses or having talks with the staff.You first walk in and you are greeted to a more wide open area to look at and tryout glasses.Then the second area is where you speak to the staff and pay for products, this area is around the corner in the back to be more private and more quite.Then there are closed off rooms for the testing that you can have done, while also a being small the rooms branching off in different directions to make it less cluttered.Vibe:The front of the store is nicely lit up with enough light to see where you are in the store, the light behind the glasses draws you towards the displayed glasses and encourages you to try some out.The floor is a nice bamboo wood floor that gets ever so slightly lit up with the lights from the displays.The store uses their logos color theme of white and dark green, they use white on most of the walls but they will use a dark green every now and then to break up the bland walls.Staff Interaction:The staff are really nice and welcoming, if you ever need to ask a question about something feel free to ask as they are there to help you out on any questions you have.When you are paying for products you are guided to either sit at a desk in the back around the corner or if there are none available they guide you to some waiting chairs to sit in.My Interaction:Sharon was the person I was with for picking up the new glasses and testing if they fitted correctly. She is the nicest person ever, she had some questions on how the review system worked as she was curious and she openly listened to what I had to say. When I asked questions she had the knowledge I needed and when she asked questions I answered in the best way I could too.In my opinion she is a very nice person and she is very welcoming to learning new things the customer has to say. I'd say she is one of few people who will listen to me go on and on about something with out beginning to ignore me or try wrap things up to get pasted the subject.-Aaron Austin

8 months ago I had to replace my glasses due to a script change, cost $1300. After the eight months due to another script change I had to get another pair of glasses this time the cost was $1500!!!!This is the last time I will purchase glasses from specsavers, the 2 for 1 offer is a con job…the second pair is never free as they get you with the extras you need for your glasses to see. After seeing a local optometrist I found that they could have just changed my lenses in my perfectly good frames…this is something Specsavers won’t do!!!Good riddance Specsavers!

Excellent experience.! Frim the polite lady making the appointment, to the fabulousconsultation with Sanje Munn, all the way to the picking them up with Sharon I have nothing but rave reviews. Friendly, approachable, knowledgeable and simply lovely. Highly highly recommended:)

Sharon was awesome when I picked up my glasses. Made sure needs were met and vision was good. Also special care to tighten and offer a great choice of case.

Sharon makes choosing new frames a really fabulous and fun experience. She has just helped me with new frames that will be my first ‘wear all the time’ glasses and I’m so happy with them. Sharon has helped my teenage daughter with her last pairs and from this day is the family stylist! Sharon, was absolutely lovely in helping out choosing glasses and making me feel like a valid customer, highest recommendation towards herself as she was proactive in actually assisting myself. Also specsavers yet again has proven to myself they are one if not the best providers for glasses out there and I'll definitely keep on coming back

I had appointment at Spec savers, with 3-4 appointments they were able to do two test. After the second test it was said that the optalmologist will contact with the result on the same day or next. I wait until 3 weeks, not received any calls or messages from Spec savers. Then I have to go to my previous opthalmologist which they said the glasses prescribed by spec savers were less power than I was using . Not sure what are they prescribing and how they can’t follow up with the patient.

Specsavers at Queensgate , Lower Hutt, were fantastic; the whole process was seamless and hassle free from beginning to end. I would highly recommend them and we now have new glasses at very affordable prices because of the great offers they had!

I appreciate the operating model of Specsavers - where various elements are taken care of by different people. It made for an efficient experience. Choosing the frames was greatly enabled by the staff who were delightfully honest about what suited me best. Everyone was friendly and professional. A great experience.
