Always a cycle shop of choice with good prices for cycle clothing, shoes, bike parts, and unusual accessories and camping gear. Recently purchased bikes parts for my Rockhopper and old Avanti

I have bought a fair amount of bike stuff from Pack and Pedal, Porirua over the last five years. Service has gone significantly down hill over the last couple of years. Went in to get a replacement bike part and was told that they would ring me back when they had tracked the part down. I rang back a few days later and they hadn't looked and said they would ring back; I rang back a week later and they said that they had looked but couldn't find anything. No proactive call back when they couldn't find the part and no alternative options provided. The staff there just don't care about customer service. Won't be shopping there again in future.

Based on the The Customer service I have to rate 1. First I was asked if he could serve another lady buying one item after already starting his service with me. I said sure ok go ahead, although I felt it odd. Then the payment didn't work so her simple" transaction took well over 5mins. Then

Went in on Monday to look at bikes for my fast growing lad.Went here because the staff have always been really helpful with things like parts and innertubes for the bikes we brought with us when we emigrated here 5 years ago.We had been a to a few other bike stores in Porirua but weren't that impressed by the prices or the lack of stock.We went into Pack and Pedal and the knowledge, helpful service and honesty of the staff meant we bought that day and left smiling. The stock and prices are much better than anything in the wider Wellington region.Then the bike wouldn't fit into my new car because of a fixed cage. The boss noticed, came and helped AND left me with the tool to put the cage down whenever I needed for free. We are loyal customers and would recommend this store to anyone looking for a new bike.

When Torpedo 7 told me to get lost because building (selling) new bikes is more important than caring for customers and fixing existing ones, I thought I'd go see Pack and Pedal. These guys rocked - they had my bike fixed in no time with no excuses and a great price too. My only gripe was that I had to phone to find out what the progress was but that was softened when I was told you can collect it now

Unfortunately the bad experience my son had with requesting a specific job and was charged for a 'silver service' but bike came back without the brakes fixed or pads replaced as requested leaving the bike still unsafe to ride and charged for oil yet it was dabbed on an outer bolt but not applied through where it matters. $100 service was disappointing. They did rectify the issue after returning it though.

Friendly and helpful staff. Found what we wanted and wanted to buy more.
