NZ Alpine Club Unwin Lodge
Super great place to stay. Clean, well equipped, relaxed atmosphere. Nice common room and fine beds. If you're used to doc huts, these mattresses are slightly better and the bed itself is sturdy and doesnt squeak! There's a little shelf to put things on just by your feet or head. There is room to stow your backpack away close to your bed too.Not too many power outlets but made do!Great with a fireplace and an outside porch to view sunrise over the mountains.Absolutely fine place. Would recommend and go back. I loveve four stars because it was super good but to be five would have to have been either cheaper or e.g. not have super cold shower rooms (water was warm!!).

u have to bring sleeping bed along but it worths it.The lodge is spacious with modern kitchen. There is also a piano there. come to play some old songs. Sunset and sunrise at the lodge is another gift that u should take away :)

NZ Alpine Club Unwin Lodge
This hut belongs to the NZ Alpine club and is open to club members and visitors (clubmembers and members of other Alpine clubs pay $20/night, non-members $40).Stunning views from both rooms and lounge area with fireplace. Hot showers, clean bathrooms and the hut ward is very knowledgeable. House rules of mountainclub huts apply and that's fair enough.No camping on site allowed.

NZ Alpine Club Unwin Lodge
What a great place to stay and the price is perfect. I dare say where else do you get a million dollar view in clean and comfortable accommodation. The bathrooms where always clean and the showers ran hot. The kitchen is well set up and has plenty of utilities to use with cook tops and ovens to use. The common sitting area has plenty of room for 25+ and feels really homey. When we stayed we sat and talked with the hut warden and his wife who baked some fresh cupcakes and chocolate sauce to put on top. They where both really friendly people and I encourage you to strike up a conversation. There are several rooms to sleep in but it would be advisable to book ahead of time to ensure you get a bed. It can be difficult to get groceries in Mt Cook village so I recommend you take all supplies and store in the hut fridges and cupboards. I’ll be back again in the near future to stay again.

NZ Alpine Club Unwin Lodge
The kitchen attached to a big opine lounge and beautiful view of snow topped mountains. Very well equipped kitchen, super spacious, lots of sofas to relax on. The rooms are spacious too, bring your own sleeping bag though. The showers are hot and it was super chilly during the winter months but there is a radiator in the rooms. Doc hut type mattresses but very clean. I would deffo stay here again and I recommend.

Good setup if wanting to go skiing or hiking. Fairly basic facilities but everything that is needed - log burner, drying room and lots of bunk rooms.

NZ Alpine Club Unwin Lodge
Love unwin hut the most! I went here on a school trip and the scenery was just amazing! It comes with a kitchen fully loaded with utensils and cookware. Have a really big place to hang out and get cozy. Definitely recommend it! The bathrooms are clean and comfortable

NZ Alpine Club Unwin Lodge
Very nice and clean lodge. Kitchen is big and well equipped. Hot showers and toilets are nice and clean. You have to bring your food yourself but besides that the place is awesome with nice view of Aoraki Mt Cook NP. Climbing and hiking spots nearby and close to the helipad. Highly recommend if you are into climbing.

Omg i love this lodge. It's so beautiful, so amazing, so beautiful. Would recommend to all.Only thing is no signal unless ur with spark but honestly isn't it good to recharge and remove yourself from the world for a while when you're in mt cook

NZ Alpine Club Unwin Lodge
It is the largest hut the New Zealand Alpine Club has at Aoraki Mount Cook National Park.Very popular and close to Mount Cook Village. It is a great place to take as a base for any adventure activity in the sorrounding mountains.Most of the mountaineering parties use it as a stay on stormy weather.It can get very busy on the summer vacation months so it is a good idea to make reservations.The hut has several rooms with banks and a large kitchen with dining tables and a living room" with great views of the mountains of the Tasman glacier valley.You have to bring your own food and sleeping bag or you could eat at the local restaurants... Quite pricey though."
