Such a picturesque location, we sat out on the deck looking out over Lake Brunner. Unfortunately the food was quite average, and there was only one front of house staff who seemed not quite sure what she was doing. But I imagine this would be a great spot to have drinks on a sunny day!

Lacklustre lunchVERY over-priced for what we received for our lunch. Steak in sandwich was cardboard-thin and -tasting, and the weirdly textured corn and kumara fritters were tasteless apart from a strong ginger flavour. Not much choice in Moana - If staying for a short while I recommend eating at the more cheerful and cheaper Hotel Lake Brunner pub. If staying a while longer in Moana, I'd recommend eating more than once at the Hotel Lake Brunner pub...

This cafe is facing the train station. The steak sandwich is so delicious, my daughter loves the fries. We were sitting outdoor table surrounded by trees, plants, flowers and birds.

We visited the Stationhouse cafe on. Saturday evening. The two vegetarian dishes we had were both excellent.The decor is nice, service is friendly and there is plenty of seating- both indoors and outdoors. The only thing we missed is a train....but that’s not controlled by the cafe!We would be very happy to visit again!

Highly recommend this amazing “cafe”.The friendly service made our experience enjoyable. The food was outstanding, (both lunch & brekkie). Accommodating of our needs. The view, breathtaking. Atmosphere, relaxing.Thank you to all the staff!!!

The beautiful view across Lake Brunner is worth stopping in at the Station Cafe for. But happily, the food and service are also excellent. Expect typically laid back West Coast hospitality. Nothing is done in a rush. Not necessarily even efficiently. But the welcome is sincere, the menu extensive, and the food perfect for the setting. We all had toasted sandwiches and thick cut chips. Hearty comfort food for a cool winter day, cooked just right.There are beers on tap and in the cooler, along with wine and a range of non alcoholic drinks.
