FACILITIES are in good condition but the layout for the changing rooms is poor if you have a baby and are the only adult with them. There are no baby changing tables with a security belt in the main changing rooms (there is a large bay of change mats opposite the pool) so there isn't a safe place to secure them from rolling off while you change yourself. This layout only works if you have 2 adults, so one cares for baby while the other can get dry and dressed.INSTRUCTORS are pretty good and lessons are fun but teaching methods can be a bit inconsistent across teachers. Not a big deal but just something to be aware of. However, particularly the younger ones are very inconsiderate when off duty. They often sit on the walls so their feet would be where the parents heads would be if you want to sit on the benches, and they block off this space often by spreading out (putting their legs up etc).RECEPTION STAFF are most of the time quite rude and hard to get hold of. I've phoned 7 different times and they've only picked up once. They almost never greet anyone when they come it, they've got their heads down looking at the computer screen and can be hard to get them to answer you. It really doesn't take much to look up for a second and say hello to people as they come in.BOOKINGS you only get 1 make up for sickness a month (as they'll curtly remind you is part of their t&C's with no compassion) so, particularly if you have a baby or very young child you may miss far more than that especially in winter so the price per lesson rockets up. Even without that fact they are one of the most expensive swimming lesson businesses which after the above mentioned negatives doesn't make it worth it.PARKING is not enough at peak times as the classes are not staggered so allow another 10mins or so to park somewhere else and walk.

Booked our son for his lessons - he was sick and we informed them about it. At the time they said it's OK and we won't be charged for it. Now all of a sudden - we've got two outstanding invoices due. After much deliberation they agreed to cancel one invoice. They refuse to believe that we did call them to inform about our son's sickness. The lady on the call was rude and very non empathatic about our son's sickness. He is 7 months old - show some compassions please.

My son isn't the most amazing listener or follower of instructions, but I can't speak highly enough of the teachers and their understanding of little ones and their patience. I am so proud of how far my son has come too, in a few short weeks. And it's such piece of mind knowing that he will be water savvy.

Hilton Brown is the best swimming facility we've ever been to. The staff make you feel so welcome and really know their stuff! You can tell that they are put through a high level of training before teaching classes. The pool and bathrooms are always clean and tidy, making the whole experience comfortable. My son's confidence and skill has grown so much in the 3 years that we have attended lessons.

This is one of the best swimming facilities I have been to in Auckland. Super friendly and helpful staff, always cheerful and welcoming. I was able to achieve a lifelong personal goal here, and finally actually learn to swim with the help of some very patient swim instructors, very pleased with myself :). Gets a bit busy after 3pm, and the showers are a bit too hot. But overall 10/10. Thank you Hilton Brown Swimming, and especially the tireless Aless - you are a superstar.

Our kids swimming abilities have noticeably improved since moving to Hilton Brown. It is a bit more expensive than other classes that we have used but the quality of the instructors and the skills the kids are picking up are worth it and they enjoy coming.

The only reason my son goes to this particular place is because is the only swimming school close to where we live.My son is a returning student, on the same location, and when re-enrolled was put back in the beginners class for a whole term, even after I have informed that he was on a more advanced level. Obviously we paid for a whole unnecessary term, that he didn't pay any attention to the teacher as he was bored and couldn't forced himself to pay attention on something that he alredy knew. Also, it really annoys me that I can't decide when the best date is for the payment to be deducted, which results in unnecessary stress on my monthly budget. If was another place closer would happily consider transferring my son.

Teachers in the baby and beginners classes are very clear with their instructions and why do to do things a certain way. I noticed an improvement with my eldest with her confidence in the water after two sessions, and she is keen to continue her classes.Parking can be a shuffle as it often overflows into the street for the morning weekend classes. However, it is manageable. The coffee cart by the front is a perk!Staff at reception are warm and welcoming. They really set the tone for the rest of the space. There is a waiting area away from the pools if you have toddlers waiting or are intolerant of the warmth of the pools. You can still see everything going on in the pools in this area as there is a large window that spans the width of the pool. Ideal for parents who need to work while their kids are taking lessons.

We recently visited this place 4 times (once per week Saturday morning 10.30AM to 11:00) and found it to be okay overall. However, I would like to suggest to the management that teachers should pay equal attention to all kids, especially beginners and those who find it difficult to learn and those who are not comfortable with water. By doing so, they can help all children have a positive experience and build their confidence in the water.
