Busy with cyclists and walkers around the Eastern bays coastline to Pencarrow heads with stunning views across the Wellington harbour to the City. On a clear day you can see the Kaikoura Ranges the tip of South Island

Good walk to Pencarrow on a good day. It can get very blustery in a strong northerly. Visit to the upper lighthouse is well worth it. Good signage and history boards.

Walk to Pencarrow lighthouse was fantastic.Took about 2 hours each way including to the upper lighthouse. Would highly recommend!

Dog's on leash, why? If you have a small well behaved dog that never kills anything. Dogs breeds and sizes shouldn't all be treated the same.

Went for a bit of fresh air and the outdoors. Smooth, relatively level, and well maintained track goes down and beyond the lighthouse from this Gate. Wild sheep and goats make fun spoting, just make sure to take water and a jacket as it can be longer and windier than you'd expect.

Peaceful, large beach to watch the ships go by. Away from the crowds. Can be very windy. Wildfinder bike hire has snacks and soft drinks nearby.

Beautiful views of the city and the ferries coming into the port. I walked the track, but is better suited for biking - long flat gravel road is exposed to wind and sun, so can get really hot and dry. I recommend biking over walking as the whole trail is flat but for the walk up to Pencarrow lighthouse.

Lovely spot for a walk, ride or run. Ensure you take enough water as the distance can be deceptive.Take a left up the track to the top light house for an extra bit of exertion. There are remnants of a building in the bushes off the side of the lower track. This is out past the lower light house, sewer outfall and big rock on the right.
