The Saucy Chef Restaurant & Bar
Decided to do a bit of road trip to Invercargill and wanted a nice place to have dinner and I have to say the Saucy Chef did not disappoint. The food was incredible and as someone who had never had Hare before I was super impressed with how delicious it was and how well everything on the plate paired together. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and will be coming back as soon as I can!

The Saucy Chef Restaurant & Bar
We were greeted by a lovely Hostess who found us a table for 3. The waitress we had was both friendly & efficient. 2 of us had Beef dishes, the Beef Cheeks were tender and the prime rib was well cooked. The accompanying vegetables & potato were all well prepared.All in all a lovely meal with great service. If I ever return to Invercargill, I will definitely go back there.

Beef cheek and fish of the day were our choices, the beef cheek was extremely tender and beautiful flavor would definitely have this again. The fish of the day was very tasty. Both very filling for a main. Staff were friendly and welcoming and service was great.

Went tonight with another couple we all had 3 courses and all had no complaints the food was excellent. The wait staff though were the stars! (Flynn and Madison). We're knowledgeable friendly prompt and attentive so good out of such young staff they could certainly help out Wait staff twice there age at many other eateries, they were simply excellent

A fairly large restaurant space and a good looking menu. The portions were very filling and rather large. We had the lamb rack and the goat rack (listed as shank but they didn’t have it) and both were so-so. Fairly limited selection of wines by the glass.Nice staff (as good as most places in NZ) and were quite thorough.Food takes a while to get to your table, and this was a Monday evening after 8.15 pm.

We arrived without a booking on a wild, rainy, cold night, and they were fully booked. They made some calls to find us somewhere else, but everything was booked - so they made a space for us. The food was delicious and generous, the staff were wonderful, and we appreciated a really lovely dinner.

An upmarket pub bistro, with a wide range of drinks and nice food. Better than average. Nice, clean and comfortable dinning areas and helpful staff. Happy to visit again for a drink and a tasty meal.
