St Clair and The Hydro Apartments are a special place.The quality coffee, food options and the energy of this much loved Dunedin sea-side community is a privilege to experience.The apartments are great, have everything you need and the roof top terrace is quite something.They are great value for money, I’ve stopped wasting similar money on a soul-less box in Central or North Dunedin.Katherine is professional, proactive and responsive.I love staying at this place.Brendon

It is my fourth stay and I love it! Warm & comfie, everything you need, great hosts & sublime views . I love the top floor with the most picturesque clothes line location ever!As for the proximity to my fav beach .. it cannot be beaten. Great Italian restaurant below. What’s not to like? I wouldn’t stay anywhere else!

Hired the three apartments for our family as had a family wedding to attend. Beautiful sea views, and great roof top area where we hosted drinks. Apartments were spacious, clean and well appointed. Great cafes and restaurants close by, delicious food. Had to tweak bookings a few times and this was never a problem. Very good location on a beautiful beach. Highly recommend.

We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment in July for 3 nights. The apartment was very warm with no noise from outside or the restaurant below. The view is absolutely stunning from every bedroom and the lounge area. I would highly recommend and we will be back again.

What a fantastic place to stay! Incredible views right on the water. Immaculately clean and tidy. Kitchen was very well set up for self catering, even a picnic set supplied. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would absolutely stay again.

Excellent location. We had the most amazing Dunedin weather which made our experience. The apartment is very well supplied and serviced. Parking was a bit difficult at times but we managed. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Fabulous 1bed unit right on beach at St Clair. Perfect spot to enjoy the local cafes, walk in either direction to explore the beaches and coastal walk. Fully equipped with thoughtful gestures like yummy cheese and crackers and full bottle of milk in the fridge!. Loads of towels, blankets, pillows etc.. it made you feel very welcome..definitely stay again

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hydro Esplanade Apartments. Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children) stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment overlooking the Esplanade. It was spacious, clean and there were some really thoughtful inclusions. There was hardly any noise from the street and restaurant below (even though it was warm and there were lots of people about), instead, we could only hear the surf rolling in. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

Wonderful spot for a quick family getaway. We came down for Six60’s Castle St Tour and wanted to stay somewhere out of the hustle and bustle of the main town/city centre area and this was a perfect location.Very relaxing and refreshing to be by the ocean and wake up to the beautiful sea views. Location has a nice upstairs area to sit and enjoy the views, perfect for a few drinks or a meal. Apartments are fully functional, lots of ammenities, full kitchen, lots of storage, ample amount of bedding and beds.Would suit anyone staying short term or long term.Great communication with hosts.Parking fairly good and lots of nearby places for food and activities.

Arguably the best apartments in Dunedin! The most incredible position on St Clair beach, with both of our rooms having sea views so when you woke up you felt like you were in the surf.But it was the extraordinary fit out of the apartments that was so outstanding: the heating was on when we arrived so beautifully warm and delicious cheese and crackers in the fridge which we really appreciated as we were staving and arrived lated. A whole bottle of the freshest milk and a fully kitted kitchen with gorgeous tea cups and a selection of gourmet teas. Even the bathroom had a spare toothbrush and toothpaste in case you had forgotten yours, power sockets in all the right places so you could plug in phones and hair stylers. The best was even a portable full size mirror, which for us was a godsend when we had graduate girls all trying to get ready at once.Booking was seamless and entry into the place was soooo easy. They even have a carpark outside the apartment if you are lucky. the little lounge was perfect for a glass of champagne before going out for dinner and if it had been warmer we could even had sat out on the deck. And then to top it off they let us have a slight extension so we could enjoy a mother's day lunch. We wereover the moon!Congratulations Hydro Esplanade & Catherine and Mark - we stay all over NZ and I've never seen this level of service and care in accommodation at this price scale. The only thing I am sad about is that I didnt't discover this place 8 years ago when I started coming down to Dunedin twice a year for university trips to see my daughters.We will come down again just to stay in the apartments.
