Week to week rubbish collection is on time, however attempting to change services is horrific. Customer services always advice will attempt to contact in 2-3 days" which never happens. My credit card is being automatically debited in correctly.. at this point it may be easier to cancel my credit card and contact every other bill I have to have my payment details updated."

Horrendous company. The office people are fine once you get through, but they must get bored constantly apologising for the lack of service. We regularly had our bin left uncollected, and when we called up to get them to do the job we're paying them for, they seemed unsurprised that our bin was so often left behind. Our neighbours bins were picked up, so it can't be that the drivers were blind, probably just inept processes and procedures within the company. Even took 6 weeks for them to collect the bin after we cancelled the service. I'm amazed they have any customers at all. I've since gone to Low Cost Bins and have been very happy. Why? Because they pick up their bins. Avoid Waste Management like the plague.

Where do I start? We have a business account with WM. We were over charged not once but 3 times for the month of March 2020. I contacted WM by phone on numerous occasions to amend the bill which was promised but hasn't eventuated as yet, as we refuse to pay the bill until extra charges have been removed. The driver drove straight past our bin on collection day, which was witnessed by a few people adjacent to our business and a work colleague. When questioned WM said the driver did come by but there was no bin out, which was a lie. The bin is put out just before 6am on each collection day. The customer rep argued that the driver said there was no bin. When I told her there were witnesses not from our business but the business across the road she backed down. SHOCKING... They can never guarantee a collection outside of our usual days. Overall the company is TERRIBLE, their customer service promise things they can never deliver on. Horrible people...

MAY 2021 - Waste Management have just fully refunded the total sum we paid to the credit agency advising that our account had been sent to the agency in error. We weren't the only account that this happened to. Thank you Waste Management for making this right. We appreciate the refund.12 months ago we stopped our residential service in Lower Hutt. We gave Waste Management plenty of notice several times both by phone and email of this and to collect the wheelie bin before the new purchasers of our home took possession of the property. At those times, we were told there was a credit on the account and they would send us, via email, a final account for payment if there was one. 6 months later we were contacted by a collections company saying we had an overdue account that had been referred to them, which now Included a substantial collection fee. At no stage had we ever heard from Waste Management prior to this, have never had any debt issues at all, and were told we had to pay the collections company and take the issue up with Waste Management after this. We obviously paid, didn't bother to contact Waste Management because their customer accounts service is rubbish, their accounts and customer service staff are all very unprofessional and to be honest dont have a clue about what they are doing. We no longer are customers and would never use this outfit again. Was going to leave this, but other consumers need to know to steer clear.

I cancelled my WM bin collection in July 2018 after they bought out my previous bin service and they became too expensive. Two years later I received a phone call from a credit collection company claiming I owe WM $240. This was the first I had heard about any debt with them and I had to demand to see an invoice which turned out to be from July 2018-July 2019. I was expected to pay within 2 days. After phoning WM they confirmed that my account had been closed in July 2018 and they would clear the debt with the collection company. I asked why I had not been contacted before they passed my debt on but they were unable to give me an explanation and I received no apology. I'm furious that I had to go through the stress of chasing up the invoice and then proving it was incorrect. Be careful with WM, their shoddy practises seem to be well known online and I will never recommend or use them ever again.

A have been a loyal customer for many years but now their service is terrible. Two weeks reply to email.I canceled my service which was stopped 2 weeks early.Waiting time on phone more than 30 minutes.Stay away.

Rude staff, if you can even get through to them on the phone, wait times are ridiculous! They say they will call back to update you on the situation and they do no such thing. When you put the issues to them there is dead silence, followed by little information and not once an apology. Bins don't arrive on said dates, was told collection day was on a Wednesday, when it's actually on a Thursday. Two payments debited from my account within 3 days and still no sign of a bin. I DO NOT recommend this company.A massive headache just to get your rubbish collected.

After being a loyal customer for years I'm canceling this service due to 3 missed collections in the past 4 weeks with no explanation, poor phone and email responses. Seems like they don't care about residential customers nowadays.

Didn't pick up our weekly rubbish 3 weeks in a row for apparently no reason. Have called and contacted online each time and every time they say we will arrange a special pickup within the next 2 business days" but it never happens and the week just rolls back around. I only paid for a 2 month contract so thats basically 50% of my money gone absolutely nowhere that i won't ever get back."

These guys are the worst. I’ve been a customer for three weeks and have had one collection (2 days after my collection date - lucky the bin was even out on the street as I live in a very exposed area). You can’t get through to the contact centre on their number - always seems to be closed. STAY AWAY.Update - After leaving this review WMNZ contacted me apologising and gave me a credit for 1* collection and picked up on a different day that week. Apart from that their service has not improved. Our green bin has not been collected in the last month - we intend to cancel this service completely and find a different provider - although from reading the views sounds like i'm going to find cancelling extremely difficult as well... If i could give zero stars i would.
