Care was very good during day but my grandmother passed away early evening last year and her rings on both hands disappeared within an hour of her death and were never recovered. I would advise to be aware of the risk and be insured. It was very upsetting for our family losing these family heirlooms including a wedding band.

I could not recommend Bethlehem Views Rest Home more highly to anyone who is considering moving in there or to anyone who needs to find a suitable and loving, caring place for a loved parent/ or parents.I can guarantee that they will deliver the care that they say they will do and do it with passion and compassion.I would give them without a doubt, the highest of all stars you can possibly get.(In fact they deserve gold medals in all honestly). They have a very very high standard of care at this place, they are very professional , and very efficient, and have been trained very well.I have seen this in action with them many many times and with my parents.Staff, Care Workers, Nurses, Manager, Clinical Manager, the whole team who work there are extremely compassionate with the residents, and also to the families of residents. They are always friendly, kind, patient, ,thoughtful, very supportive , helpful, understanding and all around absolutely amazing lovely people. There service of care is prompt and the highest of respect is given to residents at all times, along with their families who visit. My Father has since passed and during this sad hard process they were extremely compassionate, supportive, to both my parents and to our entire family.Right up to giving honour to my Father when he passed as he was wheeled out the door and even given a memorial. The love and care continues to be shown to my Mother since my Fathers passing.Cooks are great ,and food is lovely and presented nicely , even when it has to be moulied for a resident its even nicely done for them. Care is again taken. It is a lovely sunny place, with an amazing huge lounge area with a gorgeous view in which a resident can always sit and just relax in the nice warm sun. They have exercises for residents ,group things, activities and entertainment.I can always feel reassured and and knowing after going home after visiting my parent, that my Mum is always in the most excellent compassionate best and safest of care. They all do it all with love and compassion and it shows that they love what they do.I cannot fault them!If you chose this place, then you are making a excellent and right choice for you Parent/Parents!Parents deserve the best of care and they will definitely get it here!Thank you Bethlehem Views for all you have done, for all you still do and for all you continue to do and for the love that you give. You are absolutely awesome and we so appreciate you!I am truly so thankful and grateful to you all!

My father passed away late Monday evening. I travelled from the USA arriving in Tauranga at 10am Thursday morning meeting my sister, who lives in Tauranga and my brother and sister-in-law who arrived Wednesday from Sydney. At noon, we went up to Bethlehem Views to clean out my Dad’s room. What did we find? My father’s treasured pictures and awards were piled in a heap on the floor and covered with a dust sheet with workmen prepping the room for painting. Emotionally, I had schooled myself to imagine my father in his chair where I had seen him so many times. What a shock! My family was appalled. We were even more appalled by the callous attitude of the senior manager, Rachel Dudsen, who offered no apologies or sympathy and merely kept repeating that we had two days to clean out his room. My sister never even received a phone call advising her that this was happening. After five years of receiving loving, sensitive care from the staff, Rachel Dudsen left us with a very bad taste. She should be ashamed.
