Franz Josef Oasis Hotel

Located a short 5 minutes drive from the town centre, the hotel is surrounded by a vast expanse of flat green fields that gives it an open and scenic feel. The interior of the buildings were also nicely designed to give a clean modern ambience. The rooms were extremely well maintained and stocked with the necessarily essentials while wifi quality was good. Free parking on the premises is provided as are laundry facilities (for a fee). Simple breakfast buffet can be ordered in addition to regular dining options. Strongly recommended if just looking for a getaway away from the town centre but yet not wanting to be too far away to travel there if needed.

Excellent value, but that could be the fact that we travelled out of season. However, rooms ware extremely well kitted out. The only criticsm is that it's quite far from Franz Josef town centre if travelling with limited transport and the channel selection is limited. I noted quite a few other motels offer Sky 50+. This didn't and so wasn't on Par with what we expected for the high standards that the hotel met on other aspects.

The rooms at the Oasis are outstanding , very new and of excellent quality. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had breakfast and a 4 course wine dinner which was first class. It must be one of the best places to stay in Franz Josef. A very friendly German manager assisted us with all our requests and needs. Truly one of the best places we stayed at in New Zealand.

We were booked in a Premium Suite for 3 nights. The room was spacious and lovely appointed, with a fireplace-looking heater.The bathroom was large, but this also meant that our towels were quite far from the bath.The spa was great.We also paid for breakfast one morning, but I'd say that was not necessarily worth the money.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Franz Josef Oasis. Was late arriving on a Cold, Wet and windy night. Was shown into a large, comfortable and tasteful room. The room was heated by a electric fireplace on the wall, which gave the room a nice feel. The bathroom had a shower over bath, the shower could have been more powerful, but it was nice and hot, and no real complaints. The bath however, was pretty shallow, not a bath you can have a nice long hot soak in....Value for money factor was fabulous. I would have expected to pay more then what I did :)Loved that the room had a large telly, and a full selection of Sky channels. Nice view in the morning over the countryside.Will definitely stay again, very much enjoyed my night here!

Hi, we stayed in room 16,lovely place tidy room, thought the price was ok when we booked on line thinking yes it has a restaurant so we can stay in house for food and drinks, got here and the nice young fella said they only do pizza,,yea,nah... so we ended up going to the town ship to have a meal, so we thought the price was a bit much

Didn't sleep at all the whole night.Very hot and lots of bugs.This hotel has no AC, and only one window that opened 8cm with no screen, and a light we couldn't turn off right near it. The options were either get a tiny breeze and immediately get eaten by bugs, or literally roast all night. We eventually just gave up and got on the road about 5am.

Very quiet hotel with spectacular views of the night sky. The rooms were nice! We really enjoyed our stay!

Lovely hotel, beautiful view and nice location ! Nice room and comfortable bed. Clean and lovely place to stay with very nice host ! Loved our stay would come back and recommend to friends and family. Only breakfast for 22$ pp was a bit expensive for what your get (although prepared with care) would recommend to eat in town for breakfast.

Overpriced motel with very scratchy sheets. For $350 a night, you would have two nice sheets. The internet did not work all night.
