Korohe Horse Treks

Though I didn't go riding myself, my 9 year old daughter had the time of her life 'swimming with the horses', and my wife loved every second of it. They came back soaked :)

Kind people who were very flexible and understandable with our late arrival due to traffic. They accomodated our booking without hesitation. They are easy to reach out via email and the place is easy to find as well. The Enchanted Forest track was nice and we were nicely guided as we were total beginner with horses! I recommend this place 100%!

Sammy was an awesome guide. We were first time riders and she was super patient and encouraging. Horses were incredible and made us feel very confident navigating rivers and undulating terrain.

Very nice experience. Got to ride through a river and John the host was extremely helpful.

My wife and I did the Swimming with the Horse trek on our honeymoon. It was god damn amazing! The views were breathtaking and Sammii & Estelle were great as instructors/guides. Within a quick 30min tutorial we all new how to handle our horses with care and respect. While I could’ve happily kept trekking after 1.5hrs, it was still a great length. As soon as we left the ranch, it felt like we were instantly ‘lost’ in the woods as there was not a hint of civilisation around and it was so magical. Deep river riding with the horses was such a cool and unique experience too. The water basically comes all the way up to the saddle as you made your way through some shallow and some deep parts. If you’re confident on a horse, there’s plenty of photo taking opportunities, but if you’re a bit more nervous then Sammii was taking a bunch of videos and photos which she sent us all too.Could not recommend this place higher.

This is my family’s second time coming to Korohe Horse Treks. John and Sammi are so nice and helpful. The horses are well trained. We enjoyed the stunning river scenery while riding on the horses so much. Definitely, we will come back again. Highly recommended, a must-do activity.

We had the most beautiful and serene experience doing a “Swimming with horses” trek. Arriving at Korohe Horse Treks was like coming home to a family, with a warm and personal welcome. The horses were clearly well treated and cared for, and trained in a style that was respectful of the horses. During the ride time just stood still, it was that beautiful, and swimming with the horses was just amazing. We felt totally safe and well guided throughout, and our guide was able to differentiate what we did based on experience. Checkin and payment was also easy and professional. Overall just a perfect experience! Thank you!
