DogMad Groomers

I have been taking my two small dogs on a regular basis to Sue for the last few years, and have been so pleased with the result. They go in usually at about 8am as they are groomed and then stay for the day in the lounge area and then I pick them up at 5pm. They are breaking their necks to get into the building in the morning, and when I arrive back there they are, two beautifully groomed happy dogs. I would highly recommend Sue and her Team to anyone that is looking for a positive experience for themselves and their dog. The photo I have posted was taken by Sue after their groom. Two very happy dogs! Oh.....and they get a lovely bow on their collar just for being there!

Been going here for the past 3 years ever since I got my pup! Always a great pleasure to see Sue and her team greet us! They love and respect the dogs and are very professional and they know what they're doing. Always leaves my baby Yuna looking awesome and smelling sweet:) thank you !!

With good reviews, I proceeded to book our little dog in with Dog Mad Groomers. It was explained to me areas of matting would require shaving. I was ok with this. To my horror upon collection of our dog she was shaved everywhere, within an inch of her life. I am also very concerned they ripped the hair from inside her ears. I was not told this would be happening. This dog has never had a ear infection so this was totally unnecessary. There is now a large scab on the inside of her ear where it was weeping. Due to the excessive shaving we had to rush out to purchase coats/jackets for our dog as she has not stopped shivering since we picked her up. It is very clear that pain was caused during the grooming session, her demeanor is that of an abused dog. She has completely lost her appetite and does not want to engage. I had a bad feeling from the beginning when I dropped our dog off, I was attempting to have a discussion about what would be done and what my preference was when our dog was snatched from my arms and whipped away and placed in a cage. I should of listened to my gut feeling and left straight away with our dog. I feel it is my place to protect and care for our dog and I feel like I have abused this privilege by taking her to Dog Mad Groomers.

Sue and the team at Dog Mad Groomers combine great service, a fantastic groom and affordable prices into one great package. Not only that, but you can tell they genuinely care about the dogs there! I won't go anywhere else for my dog's grooms now - they're the best on the Kapiti Coast!

We took our little dog in for a full groom last friday. He has been groomed before with a lady down Raumati, with no issues. Sadly these groomers shaved him very short and he got razor burn on his private area. It meant our little guy is still not himself a week on with a trip to the vet at an extra cost of $64.00 for cream and a cone.. He is still in pain when applying his cream and still cant walk probably yet. Really disapointed that no refund was offered given our extra expense. also he may need another vet visit as he is not getting better . We only went here as it had good reveiws from friends, sadly we wont be returning. They said he was in poor condition, he was messy not in poor condition , this little guy is usually a happy puppy and well cared for.

They did a wonderful job on our Border Collie (Callie). She came home smelling and looking wonderful! Would highly recommend them to others and plan to bring Callie back next time she needs a groom.
