Ordered a takeaway fish and chips plus a hamburger combo meal to take with us to eat at whangerei falls. The fish and chips was great. Hamburger was a little sad (not much lettuce or tomato, but also we probably should have ordered something with a few more toppings.) Everything was cooked fresh to order which was great. Food was yummy and not that oily (oil tasted fresh as well (recently changed). Would recommend esp for a lunch stop at the falls

The best, cleanest fish and chips shop in Whangarei! Always fresh, if you phone in your order it is always ready on arrival! Very friendly staff!! I rate them 5 stars!!

A TREMENDOUS WASTE OF CASH. I ordered oysters, not knowing I had to specify to have them raw. They came out fried, along with totally inedible, overcooked, dry, saltless kumera chips and a spring roll that would make any Asian person roll over in their grave. After talking to the man at the counter, he informed me I would have to buy fresh oysters. Again. I've already spent $40 on inedible food and have to spend more money to get what I ordered? I've never experienced that in my life. He made fun of me and yelled at me for not being specific w my order. I thought it was the job of the business owner to be specific. He then charged me $2 for tomatoe sauce so I could attempt to eat the dry, bland, mealy chips. I eventually gave the food away to someone on the street because I was worried I would get sick. BEWARE!!!!

Definitely won't be going here again I was shocked at the amount of chips they give you for $8 literally like $3 worth or 1 scoop of chip

Chips were perfect..and the batter is always good..not too thick nor greasy..just right & delicious.Pineapple fritters yum too.The owners are great people & I'm always amazed at how calmly they work under intense busy times..& Hoaki on the counter is a treasure..always great service!This is a popular Fish n Chip place..people I speak with are very complimentary.We always enjoy the snapper or gurnard when it's available but even the fish bites are good. I'm personally not a hoki fan so I can't comment.
