The Tip Shop

Everyone loves the tip shop. Cheap pots and pans. The odd super cool item. And emergency water tanks.Thanks tip team for the service.

I love this shop and frequent it. Most of the staff are friendly. However today I had a bad experience with a staff member working there. My partner and I drove to the place, he stopped to dump recycling and I walked to the spot where you drop off unwanted stuff as I had a insect trap that was in good condition but we didn't want any more. As I approached the drop off spot, a male staff member stopped me and said in a very stern tone ' we don't accept walk-ins, you need to drive here.' I was taken aback. I said 'what's the point? I'm already here!' I really could not understand the rationale that people had to drive to the drop off spot. The man tilted his head towards the counter and said grumpily 'leave it here but for future reference, we don't accept walk-ins'. I put the trap on the counter and walked away. But I felt bad. Did he not get any training in customer service? I'd imagine WCC gives all their staff training! The way he talked to me was just rude!

Regular Sat morning happening for us! This place recycles by selling what others don't want. Stock varies immensely so do keep going back for what you are hoping to find. Jammed packed with treasures of all kinds.

Handy to the recycling depot I popped into the Tip Shop opportunistcally when my recycling collection was missed. Good spot to grab stuff if you're flatting or setting up home, cheaper than the op shops.I was especially happy with the kitchen utensil area, scored the 10c forks for work!

Wellingtons very own tip shop, this is such a wonderful place and a great asset to have for the city, this is one of my favorite places to visit, you can literally spend hours here looking at the massive amount of treasure. They have everything, and the staff are great, Thanks
