Mortimer Hirst took over the practice in Gillies Ave from my prior optometrist quite a few years ago. Wendy provided me with treatment for an ongoing dry eye issue that my prior optometrist was not even aware of. I have a regular eye health check six monthly. Recently I took my 94 year old mother for a full eye check and bought her new glasses. Excellent service from Wendy. The receptionists are knowledgeable and helpful as well.

A number of years ago, when I was in need of a new optometrist, a friend unequivocally recommended Wendy Hill, and I am so grateful that she did. Wendy is highly skilled and experienced, with a warm and reassuring manner.So when I found a while ago that she had moved to Mortimer Hirst, which was as conveniently located as the old practice, I followed without hesitation. And also found an excellent dispensing optician in Zoe Ross, who is as skilled and experienced in her area as Wendy is in hers. Support staff have always been helpful, responsive and well-informed.Recently, I had a problem with an expensive spectacle frame snapping - purchased from another practice, with the lens fitted by Mortimer Hirst. The only solution this other practice would offer was to order in a complete frame replacement. When I subsequently chatted with Mortimer Hirst, a number of options were presented, and I finally settled on the replacement of a part, rather than the entire set, which was a much cheaper option. I really value that level of customer service and support.I highly recommend Mortimer Hirst, Wendy and Zoe for your eye care and eyewear needs.
