Went to this branch over my South Island vocation. Renting a hi5 was the best choice for this. Christchurch staff members Luna and Joseph were friendly and welcome us from the start, the specs and insurance policies were clearly explained. They even have an own app to show you where the camp sites are! Very helpful. The van we got was powerful and clean. Nothing to complain. We had a great time and will be back again on our next South Island holiday.

We traveller from Christchurch to Auckland in 4 weeks with a Kuga Campervan from Travellers Autobarn, and we have to recommend them. Their price is fair (halfway between big motorhomes and smaller Campervans where we felt we wouldn’t feel that comfortable), the Campervan was very clean and had more than enough space to storage our bags, have dinner, work and sleep comfortably. It drives just like a regular car, It parks anywhere and that was also the reason we went for it and not for a larger Campervan/motorhome. The kitchen had everything so we didn’t had to buy nothing additional. Mechanically we had no problem, the camper was surprisingly stable on the road, the tires looked nearly new, the gearbox was automatic and glad we chose that. The overall experience was great, they also have a whatsapp support in case you need anything and a lot of information on their website that can help with all the planning.Hope this helps! :)

7-day North Island trip in Kuga campervan in New Zealand starting 16 May 2023, late autumn. Mostly dry but for 2 days of rain. Van worked well without problems. Accidentally left headlights on for 3 hours when parking, engine almost couldn't restart. On this, help desk advised that if the separate 12V supply runs out, it will tap from main battery, which in turn may cause engine to not start. In strong winds or if big truck is about to overtake me from my rear right, I will feel a sudden jerk on the steering wheel, a simple slight counter steer solution, but uncomfortable nevertheless for one who has never driven a campervan before. It is a tall 3-metre high van with a wheel base of that of a big car, so centre of gravity is high. Thus, drive carefully. It's 100 km for every 12.2L of 91 octane petrol at $2.25/L. A full tank can go 420km. There are plenty of petrol stations in towns and cities. Suburb stations require you to enter pin number of your credit card. More established names like Caltex and BP with a manned counter will accept pay wave and do not require pin number entry. The winter pack (optional) includes a heater. This heater is a must-have if you sleep in the van in autumn/winter, else it will be too uncomfortable. It also dries whatever is wet in the van well. Went the loop from Auckland to Hamilton Gardens, Waitomo Glowworm Caves, Taupo Huka Falls, Rotorua and back to Auckland. Google GPS is more than enough for navigation, but remember to download offline map before the journey. Rotorua has the most attractions, spent 3 whole days in Rotorua doing Thermal Wonderland, Volcanic Valley, the Luge and hot spring baths and shopping. The Mitai Maori Village performance with nice buffet dinner included is the best one there, but remember to book early. Would have stayed longer if had more time. Must try Auckland Tower revolving tower 3-course set dinner at $95/pax on 51st floor. 2-hour dining. Book online around 5.30pm timeslot to enjoy fantastic seaview, sunset and city night lights. After dinner, proceed to observation deck at 55 floor FOC. The skywalk and bungee jump at 53rd floor are optional. Autobarn service staff and help desk are great, thanks! Overall, excellent experience, highly recommended.

Travelled around the South Island last month in a Chubby Camper with my friend and we absolutely loved it! We started in Christchurch and road tripped to some of the best places in NZ including Queenstown, Milford Sound, Mount Cook and more! We loved everything about our journey in our camper van! The van is super roomy and accommodated us perfectly! We had power to charge our electronics, an area to do our cooking and heaps of room for relaxing! I highly recommend travelling with Travellers Autobarn, they're the best!

If you’re looking for a self-contained budget travel by road around New Zealand, this is the place to definitely check out. It has an app for all convenience about the rental & discounts to holiday parks as added bonus for your vacay. Vans are on automatic transmission so you need not worry about handling a manual transmission vehicle. Oh, because they are worth the bang of your buck, they are often fully booked. So book well ahead of your trip.

This is our second time hiring a van through Travellers Autobarn.Driving from Christchurch south and back up and everything was great.The mini heater and water bottles were an added bonus for cold night when staying at caravan parks.

We had an excellent experience with Travelers Autobarn, we rented their Toyota Estima (budget option). The car was very clean and reliable and the price was really fair. Their staffs were very nice, they were available for every question and request and answered patiently . Will definitely rent again from them in my next trip.
