Te Aro Tenancies
My experiences with Te Aro Tenancies included one year on Quantum on Manners, and two years Quantum on Boulcott. Both tenancies were free of issues - with any problems being quickly addressed by the helpful staff at Te Aro Tenancies.Moving out due to leaving the city - but would recommend their services - especially for students. The best locations available in Wellington, at competitive prices with prompt help and support from your landlord = ideal! Many thanks!

My flat on Boulcott street was below average; it didn't have opening windows and had several internal rooms. The elevators were outdated, dodgy, and never clean. Furthermore, post never gets delivered to the building and always has to be redirected. There was no recycling system and the rubbish room was always filthy. Flat inspections were insanely harsh and once the inspector showed up on the wrong day. These flats are definitely too expensive for what they are.

Te Aro Tenancies are disgusting.116 Leftbank- No window in some rooms room- Breached privacy laws by providing me with information related to the tenancy agreement when I wasn't even on the lease- No maintenance- Had only ONE entrance/exit to the whole building and the door would frequently jam! No fire exit!- Someone had daisy-chained an extention cord from an outlet in the lobby to their flat. Extreme fire hazard. Again, no fire exit and the door frequently jammed. Dangerous!- Claimed that they were not receiving rent payments when they, in fact, were receiving rent payments. Threatened eviction.Eat your landlords, man. Except I'd give these scumlords a miss - don't infect yourself with their tainted meat.

I wouldn't deal with these people again if someone paid me. They were extremely hard to get a hold of if a problem occurred. They held my bond for almost a year for no reason at all. I had to take them to the tribunal to get my bond back and they still owe me other money almost 2 years later. I'd fight it again but it's really not worth it. They are a train wreck of a company.

Appalled by the behaviour and actions of staff and I don’t even live here! Was verbally abused and threatened by a staff member. Completely unprofessional. Knowing people who have lived here they do not abide by the tenancy law either and as other reviews here have stated they’ll happily threaten bond reductions if you do not submit to their abuse.Do not rent with these people.

Incompetent company with questionable ethics. The state of the properties they manage are horrendous, property owners would be heart broken if they knew. You will see this once you attend a couple of their flat viewings. In terms of flat viewings, Joey is helpful. however Charlie seems a waste of space being quiet, unhelpful and unprofessionally dressed. We rented off them for two years and theyve never done a property check. Once our shower knob broke off due to natural wear and tear and the guy in charge (named Weng) insisted that we broke it and wanted to charge us for it. We refused to accept liability it. When we moved out, we spent a whole day cleaning the property and Te Aro Tenancies tried to sting us with a $115 cleaning bill. We (since the shower knob incident) knew they would try something dodgey on us so we took photos of the cleaned up apartment. Weng insisted deducting the shower knob repair and cleaning costs from our bond, but we refused and took them to the Tenancy Tribunal. They agreed to refund us our full bond as soon as they heard from the tenancy tribunal as they knew they had no case. Since then it took us months to get the bond back due to them not sending the bond refund form promptly to Department of Building and Housing.Stay away from these guys, not recommended.

I would NEVER deal with this agency again. They played phone tag with me to suit themselves and in my opinion are arrogant, rude and unhelpful. I found few staff who actually understood or tried to understand situations put to them. Very unprofessional. If I had dealt directly with the government, not Te Aro to have our bond returned I would have saved myself months of being given the runaround. They don't seem capable of understanding their own systems or to follow their own paperwork trails. Just horrible to deal with.

So awful. I lived at 107 Manners St Level 1. Showers not working for months, regular complaints made nothing done. They let un-desirable tenants move in that smoke cigarettes and cannabis inside. Toilets flooded, carpet still damp in hall they never dried it from the toilets flooding for more than 24 hours. Bond lodged 6 months after I moved in.. Slack!! BEWARE GUYS!!

Ridiculous price hike on rent every single year (from $725 in 2018 up to $855 in 2019) for a tiny apartment, huge cost to the tenants for plumbing fixes (due to building's poor layout). Poor ventilation, made even worse by the fact that there are no windows that open. I don't know of a single person who liked living there. Avoid at all cost. I was at the Dixon Street one but it seems people have had problems with every single building they run.
