Peter's Farm Lodge
Very rustic old homestead. Lovely fresh bread for breakfast and lambs for the kids to feed and pat. Clean and warm but slightly more run down than anticipated.

5 min off the beaten track, but worth the trip and free pick up from the pub. Quiet, clean and picturesque. Great place for groups.

Peter was an incredible host - very accommodating and tried to make our stay memorable. The homestead is lovely, the views are amazing. It really does feel like travelling back in time a bit. Easy to recommend for anyone hoping to get off the beaten track and to have a break. And as mentioned by many others, the baked bread is amazing!

We were met by Peter at Kokonga. The house is a very old quaint mud brick house. Peter's hospitality was very welcoming and his BBQ was spot on" with the steaks cooked to perfection. the beds were very comfy and the rooms lovely and warm. A continental breakfast was served with lovely fresh home made breakfast."

Peter is a friendly host. Bed was comfortable. On a clear night the stars are amazing.If you go at the right time of year there might be lambs to feed which the kids will love.There is a courtesy car from nearby Hyde if you're biking the Rail Trail.Recommended!

Peter's Farm Lodge
Had a lovely nights stay here as part of the rail trail experience. My teenage son and I stayed in Tregonning cottage as the Farm Lodge was full. We loved it - warm and inviting, lovely comfy beds, TV, large kitchen with homemade fresh bread supplied. Peter is very helpful and relaxed - lent us the car to go to the local pub for our dinner as we had opted out of the large BBQ meal he had on offer.

Great experience - Peter was an excellent host and told us what to go and see and do, accommodations were historic and cosy, food was great. The homemade bread is to die for. Grab some fishing rods and head down to the river, and take a drive up to the old cemetery

Lovely old, old, old homestead. Watch your head on the door lintels! Nicely appointed. Comfortable bed and a good shower.BBQ was brilliant. Superb steak cooked how you like it. Fantastic host and hostess.

We spent a wonderful night at Peter's Farm lodge when arriving at Hyde on the Otago Rail Trail. It was a wonderful mix of creature comforts and modern amenities while maintaining its period character. Peter was hospitable and offered us the opportunity to feed his pet lambs which was lots fo fun. When we advised that we were wishing to BBQ that night he ensured we had everything necessary to allow for this

Peter's Farm Lodge
Booked Tregonning Lodge for the weekend so that our family could attend our daughter's wedding in Ranfurly. The lodge was even better than we could have hoped for - an historic old cottage, sensitively restored, and with everything needed to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. Beautifully clean and well appointed - right down to freshly made bread each night in our breadmaker. Pete was easy to deal with and we even had time to have a great chat with his brother as they got the lambs ready for sale. Would recommend highly and we will certainly be back.
