To whom it may concern :I was referred to Dr Leo Sheck by a very respectedbut retired Eye Specialist who assured me of his capability and professionalism.I cannot speak highly enough of Dr Sheck's skill and ability in diagnosing and treating my condition , so much so I referred my father of 86 years to him and he to has had great results from Dr Sheck's treatment.I would highly recommend Dr Sheck as an eye specialist second to none .

Dr Sheck was an engaging and insightful speaker at our event - the Seniors Forum on Health, in Auckland on 5-July-2022. I was a long term patient at Retina Specialities, under one of NZ’s leading ophthalmologists. Following her retirement and my transition to being under the care of Leo Sheck, my wife and I have found his levels of professional skill, care, and advice to be excellent. On my 2 yearly check-up, Leo picked up an issue in my left eye. With having Macular Degeneration in my Right eye, he acted straight away, he even treated me over Covid times. My experience with Dr. Sheck has been exemplary. My eye surgery experience with Dr Leo Sheck is amazing. He handled my extra ordinary case with great care and expertise. He explained the complexity and ruled out any retina complication and followed thru to recovery. My sight has improved significantly.

I’ve been a patient of Dr Sheck at Retina Specialists for about 1.5 years requiring frequent follow-up and treatment. I consider myself very lucky to be able to receive treatment at this clinic. The care has been outstanding. I feel safe, well-supported, encouraged, and sometimes even spoilt here. The eye injections became something to look forward to rather than feared. The staff offers superb expertise. I had a number of diagnostic/monitoring investigations performed at the clinic. I also had some urgent needs/concerns about my eye over this time and these were always accommodated at short notice. Everybody has been immensely professional, kind, and patient.

I have always enjoyed my appointments with Dr Leo Sheck at Retina Specialists although having the treatment of eye injections is not exactly an enjoyable process!Leo has always been thorough and unhurried in his examinations. I appreciate how he discusses and explains everything to me, patiently answering all my questions.He is willing and offers to refer on to other specialists if necessary.I like that he us up to date with overseas research and latest treatments.I also appreciate that he works in both public and private systems which enables him to both share his knowledge and learn from other colleagues while treating people unable to afford to pay or have private medical insurance.I unhesitatingly have recommended other people with eye issues to Leo.

Very pleased with the results of my cataract surgery, very impressed with Dr Leo’s skill, steady hands, and pleasant manner. The anaesthetist Dr Rory was excellent, put me quite at ease, the whole procedure was totally non stressful with no pain. Many thanks to all.

Despite the challenges he faced in treating my condition, Dr Sheck has not only successfully removed the cataract in both my eyes , he has restored my vision ( as a bonus) to such a high degree I no longer reach out for my glasses to read or see clearly.
