Wellington Night Market

Decent variety of food - Ethiopian, Morrocan, Indian, Indonesian, Chinese, Japanese etc and there are options for vegans and vegetarians too! My recommendations would be the House of Dumplings stall (you can also buy schezwan chilli oil bottles); Chaiwala for Masala chai and Indian snacks (pakoras etc); and the Garuda Food Truck for some tasty Mee Goreng and finally, head to the waffle store to finish it off!Also, note that the Friday night market is fairly small, I'd suggest going to the Saturday market instead - unless you don't mind going twice - there's always something going on at Cuba St, like the pictured unicycle juggling act by Basketball Jones. :)

On Saturday night, the market is on a different location from the pin on the map - it's in lower Cuba St, between Manners St and the waterfront. It has a slightly less crowded vibe, and more stalls. The street is closed, which is a bonus. There are usually 15-20 stalls, mostly selling Asian food and drinks of various kinds (Japanese, Malay, Indonesian, Indian, Moroccan...) and a few stalls selling other random stuff. A good place to get a cheap feed. There are usually some tables and chairs out at the harbour end of the street if you want to sit down to eat. Later, you can wander back up Cuba St and go to one of the bars or pubs.

I went for the vegan night market, hosted by Kris from Sweet Release Cakes and Treats.Amazed by the amount of people and the information, food and general vibe were all superb.

Great atmosphere and the food was delicious. Such a cool place, with heaps of authentic asian food options. The market was really great, such a great place to hang out at.

A great idea to do a market during evening. A lot of different tasts from around the world and live music from a little band. Just cool.
