Great short walk to the small lighthouse. Go during low tide, you can't cross on high tide. Gorgeous views. 1h total. No dogs allowed on the 2nd part. Also lock your valuables away or tale them, there was broken window glass on the parking spot *sadface*

Some 200 steps down to the beach where you cross to the island. Some slippery mud on the path up to the lighthouse. Well worth it to be there. Check the tide before you start

Getting to the lighthouse is not possible during high tide unless you are a very good swimmer as the wave is pretty strong. So the best time is during the low tide window. Be prepared to go on all four limbs as the last part of the walkway connecting the last island is over a short stretch of rocky shore.

Walkway to Tutukaka Lighthouse
Great views out to sea and can see the Poor Knights in the distance. Hard yakker for some parts of the walk especially coming back up the stairs at the end of the walk!!! A good walk overall. Maybe they could put some more seating by the lighthouse?
