Always a pleasure dealing with the team at Sims Bros. They've worked on my Hilux, Subaru Forester and two VW Golfs, with work always completed to a high standard and supported by prompt and detailed communication. Most recently they replaced the cambelt, water pump, a CV boot and fully serviced my 2009 Golf. The work was completed on time and even under the budgeted amount! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for all mechanical needs.

Would give more stars if possible.My Hilux cracked its head on the trip down from Christchurch to Dunedin in January. After being towed from Oamaru to Dunedin, we took it in to Sims and they slotted me in ASAP. I left my truck in their hands as I made the trip back to Christchurch and they got to work. They put a new head on new belts, water pump, radiator and plenty more. I’ve had no further problems and it’s been running an absolute dream ever since.Great communication, keeping me updated as they went along.Excellent serviceHighly recommend these guys.

We had a unique situation in that our car broke down in Dunedin whilst being borrowed by our German friends. We live near Christchurch. Sims Brothers agreed to look at the car and found it needed a new head gasket. The communication was brilliant, the mechanic spoke with my husband a number of times to discuss the issue and what parts were needed. They fixed the car at a reasonable price and in a very quick time frame. Janice in the office was very helpful.

An absolute pleasure to deal with. Very friendly staff and job came in under the estimate.The centre bearing was making noise after only being replaced (by a different mechanic) a few years prior. Received a call asking why I wanted it done as it looked in good condition. No issues with going ahead with the work and appreciated the call. The noise has now gone.Will definitely be taking both of my cars here in future and will be recommending to others 10/10

Had an issue with diff in my ute, sims brothers where quick to contact and arrange a time to diagnose the issue.Once they worked out the pinion gear was wreaked they organised a replacment diff and fitted, very quick turn around, dropped on Tuesday 10am and was ready by lunch Thursday.Friendly staff that kept me in the loop all the way through. Would highly recommend for all automotive repair needs

Great experience!! I usually dread going to the mechanics, not just because of the cost but because I've had experiences with quite condescending and patronising people (*cough* Midas) especially as a young female. The people at Sims Brothers were super friendly and helpful AND the price came to quite significantly under what they initially quoted so that was amazing! They kept me updated along the way and made sure I was happy with everything. Definitely taking my car to Sims from now on and will be recommending them to everyone!
