Theophany Loudspeakers

Loved them while I had a pair of M3Bs. Killed me to sell them when I moved to the US. Wished Theophany had stores here.

Not so long ago I bought an older pair of Theophany Psallo Kardia's on Trademe after listening to my sons more modern pair. All my life I have enjoyed listening to what I consider well produced audio but my son's Psallo Kardia's I considered were simply in another league, thus my investment. So after purchasing them I contacted Garth at Theophany. He told me that they had made improvements over the last few years and that the set I had purchased could be modernised and sound even better than my son's later set. Both my son and I trusted Garths advice but found it hard to believe as the sound they already produce is already seriously streets above anything else I have heard in the price range and well above. I am now in possession of the upgraded Psallo Kardia's and i want to say WOW!. The emotions they evoke are breathtaking, the fullness of the sound is beautifully appreciated by the accurate separation throughout the frequency range. The transient response from these speakers must be experienced to be believed, they may well make you spill your coffee. But not only that they have amazing 3d imagery and the magnificently rounded bass that extends even at low volume without intruding is outstanding. They are in my opinion simply the pinnacle of audio brilliance at a very affordable price.
