Gateway North Motel & Cafe

Standards of the room were quite poor. Felt very outdated and wasn’t cleaned well so we felt the need to clean it ourselves. Our fridge was partially broken so was iced over and mouldy. I thought a general rule of thumb for a motel was don’t use dark coloured bedding?? Gross…A shame as it could have potential to be a nice stay with some small updates and better cleaning!

Writing on behalf of my grandparents who are deeply disappointed with their stay here a few weeks ago for a wedding. They have said that their room was cold the night they stayed and unfortunately the electric blanket was broken, the room smelt bad, the bed sheets looked dirty, the shower didn’t have a curtain and overall they were very unhappy with the room and were uncomfortable. They don’t often complain and I can agree on the things that they’re disappointed about due their age (70+). Perhaps if these “little” things were fixed or put in place they would have had a better experience.

We stopped off for lunch with my colleagues who were in the area for work(5 in total). The kitchen staff were great who brought my meal out and my coffee, although the front cashier had extremely poor customer skills. I asked for a receipt to claim back my expenses from work, but it was too hard for the cashier to process. I even asked to take a photo of her printed receipt kept in the till as she couldn't reprint which I understood. The tone that I recieved was so negative, there were only two people she served after me so it wasn't hard for her to find the receipt and let me take a photo of it which would have taken 2 seconds.When my colleague was served after me (she brought a water bottle), she asked her if she wanted a receipt with it, in a snarky tone! I spent $25 at that Cafe that day which I thought was a reasonable spend to get a receipt for.I will never return there and I will also inform my friends and family not to dine there. (We did not stay at the accommodation, we only dined in at The Coffeepot")"

Good spot to stop off and get a fast feed and rest on your way north (or south) while traveling. Recommend for when you need a toilet stop or a pie to get you back on your feet.

cobwebs in bedroom,bathroom,no tv control, light shades dirt, .shower head needs cleaning toilet set need replacing. over all it needs a power wash outside betty

Just stopping break from the InterCity (north and south bound). Cafe was clean organized, restroom too.Good coffee, but the Ginger Slices are outstanding! Service was just as good as before covid

I have stayed here at least 10 times and over the last 5 times things not as good as before. No top sheet on one stay. Freezer totally frozen so can't use heater didn't work. Tonight here again and the jug does not work. Is a good motel but something is lacking.

Good to support our local, room had everything we needed for the price. Breakfast was very good, the way you cooked the eggs was soo yum. Thank you ladies.

German style cafe food. Very nice sausage dishes. Usual cakes sandwiches muffins also available. Soup of the day is a popular and economic option. Good quality at reasonable prices. It is a place that buses stop at so can get busy at times. Staff are good at coping though so not a huge deal.

Nice and relax atmosphere especially after travelling 2 hours.The cafe had delicious food especially the fruit cake slices
