SIX STARS! Five stars is just not enough for Hurunui Jacks. This review is for the 'The Nest ' at Hurunui Jacks. The nest is a similar to a typical kiwi 'Batch' or 'Crib'. Compact, but with everything you need. It is the setting and hospitality of the hosts that make Hurunui Jacks the fabulous place that it is. We fully intend on returning and make the most of what is a supremely relaxing experience. The outdoor fire pit, outdoor bath and shower, abundant bird life and adjacent bush are magical.

This was an experience like no other! The private tranquil West Coast bush setting was magnificent. The glamping facilities felt luxurious with the hosts providing thoughtful extras everywhere. The bed was so comfortable! Wendy and Fletch are superhosts in every way with friendliness and generosity. This was for us ,the best accommodation we have stayed in the world!

We stayed here while doing the West Coast Wilderness Trail. Most memorable accommodation as the setting is unique. The glamping tent is being rebuilt new. We had a look at it while walking down to the stream. It looks great and will be back online and available next summer. We stayed in the Nest". Great bach like accommodation. Beautiful stars from this location as so little neighbours anywhere close."

Wendy and Fletch have a developed a hidden piece of paradise in a stunning part of Westland. We had a truely relaxing few nights in the glamping tent where no attention to detail as been overlooked. Wendy and Fletch were excellent hosts. This was a wonderful experience.

Very relaxing stay at Hurunui Jacks, the perfect antidote to city life. Surrounded by beautiful bush and birdlife, and with lots of activities within range, including spectacular lakes and turquoise rivers. Even some gnarly bike trails to play on at the nearby Blue Spur ridge. Wendy and Fletch were generous hosts.

Incredible hospitality. You will not be disappointed. So many extra special touches. Fresh bread delivered hot in the morning. S’mores over the fire pit in the evening. Glorious setting. Perfect

Incredibly wonderful place! This was our very first experience of ‘glamping’ or glamour camping, and what a wonderful experience it was, thanks to all the efforts and care by Wendy and Fletch. To live without electricity and cellphone or wifi coverage was special. The breakfast hamper was superb and generous. The fireplace certainly adds to the charm and was a highlight. The actual tent was much bigger and better than I had imagined it to be. The kitchen is good. The water pressure in the shower is excellent. The outdoor bath is very nice. But it was not ‘shower under the stars, due to continuous rain.Huge nice umbrellas and gumboots are provided for guests’ use. There are many other special touches, which I will let you explore yourself.Although there is no electricity and cell phone coverage and the place is set in the bush, it is just 15 minutes drive to Hokitika town.I would highly recommend this experience to any couple.

This was the best accommodation we’ve ever stayed at 1 month into our journey throughout NZ, possibly ever.If you’re truly looking to unwind and rejuvenate, this is where it’s at.Down to EVERY detail, Wendy and Fletch designed Hurunui Jacks to create the most relaxing and comfortable outdoor experience. My advice is not to plan any activities, just bring a few books and forget about technology/life for a few nights. This was awesome and both Wendy and Fletch were incredible hosts. They’ll leave you to it but if you’re up for a chat, it’s super entertaining and insightful. Thanks very much, definitively recommend.
