Kāpiti at Mission Bay

The Gelato here is phenomenal! For just six dollars, you can get a large scoop in a waffle cone and choose from a variety of different flavours. The red velvet and key lime cheesecake flavours are worth writing home about! I’ll definitely be back again and highly recommend visiting for yourself.

Cool little ice cream parlour. Thought the range of flavours was good and the ice cream was very creamy. Can get very crowded at times though which means your need to wait a bit before getting served

Best ice cream ever! The perfect melting moments you can have whilst strolling on the soft sandy Mission Bay beach. Three scoops is just right for one serving right?!Friendly staff, very patient as we tried different flavors. A lovely upstair seating area.

Loved it, exactly what I expected. Tried the black Doris plum ice cream was very nice and refreshing on a hot day.Customer service was great. No waiting queue.Clean and tidy. Had an upstairs seating area as well as the ground floor.They make real fruit ice cream, kapiti shakes @$14 each, longest drink in town shakes @$7 each. Also a large variety of different kapiti ice icecreams to have in cone or in a tub.

Single scoop: $7Here's the thing, a year ago, I wrote a review about this place having possibly the best ice cream/ gelato in Auckland. Unfortunately, a month ago, the store changed from a gelato store to a Kapiti store, and things are just not the same. While the ice cream is ok, it's nothing special and can be purchased from the supermarket. The prices have gone up, and the excitement of new and delicious flavours has gone down.I loved the previous store because of the exciting flavours, ever-changing and all delicious. The new store hosts about 12 flavours, which stay the same and, to be honest, are pretty uninspiring. This place still has its upstairs seating, which some people don't know about and has its relatively cheap longest drink in town, milkshakes and thick shakes.My thoughts go out to the owners of the gelato store as I fear they may have fallen victim to lockdown. But the old store will always be in our hearts, and we would love to see you back in the bays if you can!
